Danica McKellar who co-starred “The Winter Palace” with Neal Bledsoe has come to share her thoughts on what she thinks about Neal quitting the Great American Family network over comments made by Candace Cameron Bure about promoting “Traditional Marriage” in the network.
Danica McKellar – How Neal Bledsoe Left The Network
Following Candace’s comments on “traditional marriage” Neal made a lengthy statement last week explaining how the LGBTQIA+ community has always come to his aid all his life, how growing up was difficult but the LGBTQIA+ community welcomed him and made him find his path.
Neal began his statement with an explanation of how all his life, everything good that happened to him, the LGBTQIA+ community had a hand in it. “My life wouldn’t be where it is today without the love, support, and guidance of the LGBTQIA+ community.”
“From my mentors in college, to the myriad of agents and managers, writers and directors, teachers and colleagues, and, of course, my dear friends and family, who have all touched my life, I owe them a great debt.”
“As someone who struggled as a young man with our society’s extremely narrow definition of masculinity, it was their community that provided me with refuge and a guiding light when my life felt lost.”
Neal then went on to speak on the exclusion of LGBTQIA+ from their GAF movies, Neal said, “I cannot continue with business as usual. I cannot take comfort from, nor will I give refuge to, those who excuse exclusion and promote division in any way, shape, or form.”
Continuing, Neal said, “Everyone is entitled to their beliefs, and these are mine: the recent comments made by leadership at Great American Family are hurtful, wrong, and reflect an ideology that prioritizes judgment over love.”
Danica McKellar – Supports Candace Cameron Bure
Candace said in a statement to Entertainment Weekly, “All of you who know me, know beyond question that I have great love and affection for all people. It absolutely breaks my heart that anyone would ever think I intentionally would want to offend and hurt anyone.”
Speaking on how her words were purposely misunderstood, the “Full House” alum Candace said, “It saddens me that the media is often seeking to divide us, even around a subject as comforting and merry as Christmas movies. But, given the toxic climate in our culture right now, I shouldn’t be surprised. We need Christmas more than ever.”
After Candace made the above statement, Danica took to her Instagram story to say this concerning Candace’s comments, “I’d like to set the record straight about something. I’m a new Christian, and I’m so grateful for that.”
“As I always have, I celebrate all forms of healthy love between adults, and I support representation. … The idea that Christianity would judge any form of love simply baffles me,” she said in part. I’m still new to my faith journey, but as far as I can tell, Jesus loves and includes everyone. That’s kind of His thing…”
But then, after hearing Neal leave the network, Danica simply said that she doesn’t see why Neal will misunderstand Candice that way.“I don’t agree with his interpretation of [Bure’s] comments. I just didn’t see them the same way.”
“[Bure] started the sentence with ‘I think,’ which is not definitive, and she ended it with ‘at its core,’ which doesn’t mean exclusively,” McKellar said. “I don’t agree with his interpretation, but I love him to death and I wish him well.”

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS NEW ‘GREAT AMERICAN FAMILY” AND WILL HENCEFORTH BE WATCHING IT EXCLUSIVILY SINCE MY SENSIBILITIES WERE OFFENDED LAST EVENING BY THE DISTURBING AND DISTASTEFUL COMMERCIAL THAT HALLMARK CHANNEL ALLOWS TO BE THRUST INTO HOMES ABOUT HIV/AIDS.
THANK YOU TO ALL MY FAVES ON GAF AND PLEASE STAY STRONG IN THE FACE OF WOKE AND PROGRESSIVE PRESSURE. GOD IS THE HOLDER OF STRENGTH AND HE WILL PROTECT HIS FAITHFUL CHILDREN FROM ALL ADVERSITY.
