Debut Holiday Movie Destined At Christmas Breaks Records for Great American Family

As Great American Family kicks off its Great American Christmas with a record-breaking viewership for Destined at Christmas.
Destined at Christmas, which aired on Great American Family on October 22, has broken viewership records. In fact, former Hallmark executive Bill Abbott who launched the network declared that “great content wins.”
Destined at Christmas breaks records for Great American Family
Great American Family kicked off its Great American Christmas programming event with the movie, Destined at Christmas. Meanwhile, this is the first of 18 new, original holiday movies to air on the new channel, which launched in 2021.
Starring Shae Robins (Love in Aruba and Identical Love) and Casey Elliott (An Hour of Love and Retreat to Paradise), the movie premiered on October 22. Some days later, Bill Abbott made an important announcement on Twitter.

The former Hallmark boss captioned his message, writing:
Not all Christmas movies are created equal. We understand better than anybody how to produce quality Christmas movies and that, great content wins. Viewers have found that in our #GreatAmericanChristmas programming event on #GreatAmericanFamily! #DestinedAtChristmas
With the message, Abbott shared details of the press release, which notes that Destined at Christmas broke all network rating records in every key demo. Meanwhile, this includes total households, total viewers, women 25-54, and women 18-49.
Moreover, according to the release – which is based on Nielsen data – Destined at Christmas also topped the “Hallmark Movies and Mysteries Saturday premiere” in the “women 25-54 coverage area.”
Record-breaking holiday movie
It turns out that from three airings of Destined at Christmas, it attracted almost 1 million viewers. The news release continued:
The first weekend of Great American Christmas was the highest-rated weekend ever for Great American Family among Households and Total Viewers.
Meanwhile, Daniel Lissing, who stars in the Great American Family movie Catering Christmas which debuted ring on October 29, spoke about the record-breaking viewership. He said he believes Great American Family will continue to grow.
Speaking to Digital Journal, Lissing said:
I am certain that [Abbott] is going to take the reins of Great American Family, and he is going to turn that into the No. 1 family programming channel in America.
Meanwhile, the network’s Great American Christmas features many famous names and previous Hallmark stars. These include Candace Cameron Bure, Cameron Mathison, Danica McKellar, Jill Wagner and the great Gladys Knight.
