Great American Family CEO Bill Abbott On Exciting New Projects

In a recent email to those on the Great American Family mailing list, CEO Bill Abbott wrote about new projects coming to Hallmark’s competitor.

He wrote that it has gone through “extremely busy new weeks” as GAF prepared its schedule for August through December. Abbott added that the network has completed the final edits to some of the “many movies that will premiere over the coming months.”

In his newsletter, Bill Abbott added that he wanted to thank everyone that has reached out, saying, “Your notes warm my heart and continue to strengthen us in our mission to provide great faith & family content.”

Recently, Great American Family premiered a new mystery movie, The Abigail Mysteries. Much like his former network, Abbott told fans that they can expect a series of mystery movies.

He wrote, “We really hope you enjoyed the premiere of The Abigail Mysteries two weeks ago,” adding:

The reaction from viewers has been so positive that it is our plan to make this into a series of movies that you can enjoy over the next few years.

This will no doubt be good news for former Sleuthers who, like Abbott, jumped ship from Hallmark to Great American Family.

Upcoming movies in August

Meanwhile, the GAF CEO shared details of other movies set to air during August. These include Stepping Into Love, premiering on August 19, and Strong Fathers Strong Daughters, airing on August 21.

The schedule also includes Dream Wedding, premiering on August 26, and 10 Steps to Love, airing on August 28.

What can Great American Family viewers look forward to for Christmas?

As readers likely know, 2023 has sped by so fast that now Christmas isn’t too far away. GAF’s CEO gave a teaser into what viewers can look forward to in the upcoming holidays. Speaking of the third Great American Christmas, he wrote:

We are all looking forward to Great American Christmas Year 3, and I want to let you know that Destined For Christmas 2 (to be formally titled Destined At Christmas) turned out really well, and both Casey Eliot and Shae Robins are wonderful in the movie! We are thrilled their story continues and I believe you will love the new story!

Meanwhile, Bill Abbott concluded his email newsletter, writing that he hopes fans will enjoy the rest of summer. He also asked them to let them know what Great American Family is doing right, and “equally important, where improvement is needed,” adding:

I have great respect for your opinions and really care what you think about how we are doing!
