Hallmark Channel spoilers and updates tease that the network is set to premiere another holiday movie for its Countdown to Christmas special programming. The movie, A Holiday in Harlem, debuted on Sunday, November 14.
Will Adams and Olivia Washington star in the flick. Adams is a newcomer to the industry. He only has one credit under his belt, which was a guest appearance on an episode of The Oval. The Christmas holiday film is Adams’ first bigger project.
Washington is also the latest addition to Hallmark Channel. The actress is the daughter of Denzel Washington and his wife, Pauletta Washington. Her other relatives include John David Washington, Katia Washington, and Malcolm Washington. Her acting credits include Madoff, Lee Daniels’ The Butler, and Roberts Presents: Mahalia.”
Hallmark Channel’s A Holiday In Harlem
A Holiday in Harlem follows the story of Jazmin (Washington) whose grandmother brings her to Harlem for a quick visit.
“However, when Mama Belle is injured, Jazmin agrees to stay in the neighborhood and take over co-chairing their block’s annual Christmas Jamboree with her old best friend, Caleb (Adams),” the synopsis said.
Unfortunately, things aren’t as easy as she expected. She realizes that the job wasn’t what she thought it was. However, her latest project draws her in and affects her in many ways than she can imagine.
“A successful corporate fixer, Jazmin expects the job to be easy but quickly finds that she has a lot to learn about the community and her heart,” per the synopsis.
Hallmark Channel – Filming A Holiday In Harlem
Its original title was Christmas in Harlem. Even though the film seems like it’s taking place in Harlem, as its title suggests, the movie was actually one of the five flicks, which Hallmark filmed in Connecticut. They started production on September 4 and ended filming on September 25.

Andrew Gernhard, the owner of Synthetic Cinema, which filmed the Christmas movie, said they had to do a lot of research before they transformed Hartford into Harlem. Fortunately, they managed to find sections of Hartford and East Hartford that matched the look, vibe, and appeal of Harlem, which they all recreated in Connecticut.
If you missed the premiere of the movie, you can catch it on November 23, November 27, December 2, December 12, December 17, December 25, and December 30.
