“You gotta give Halloween its due,” pointed out the Hallmark star. And next on her holiday traditions list comes Thanksgiving. Alison views Thanksgiving as her “favorite meal to cook all year long. So I love Thanksgiving [because] the family [is together]. It’s like my favorite day.”

But as soon as Thanksgiving end, Christmas mode begins! “It’s, like, time to go get a tree or get your tree out and start putting on the ornaments and the decorations and the lights and get to work,” Sweeney shared. However, the actress also has created new traditions based on her favorite holiday movies.

“I love the ice skating. So Luke MacFarlane plays my love interest [in A Magical Christmas Village] — so good, so handsome,” gushed Alison. “We did, of course, the classic Christmas ice skating, like, klutzy character that has to fall and it was so fun and funny.” She also praised her co-star. “And he was so good helping me through it.”

But Sweeney isn’t alone in getting excited about the holidays. Both Lacey Chabert and Jonathan Bennett also shared their thoughts. And Bennett admitted that after appearing in his first Hallmark movie in 2010, he loves one special aspect of Hallmark’s holiday films.

Jonathan has become a fan of what he calls “near-miss kisses” each year. For instance, the cast does “about six near-miss kisses in The Holiday Sitter. We give everyone everything they want,” he promised. “And what’s so special about The Holiday Sitter is that yes, an LGBTQ+-led movie, but it’s not for just LGBTQ+ people. The Holiday Sitter is a movie for everyone just like Hallmark Channel is for everyone. And Christmas is for everyone.”

After making her own Hallmark debut in 2021, Jordin Sparks also has fallen in love with the channel. And she views Hallmark as “family. Hallmark is love.” Just like Jordin, Lacey also exclaimed about the fun of making movies for Hallmark. “It’s a true collaboration when everyone comes together and brings their talents to make that happen,” noted Chabert. “I’m always in awe.”
