Chesapeake Shores spoilers and updates tease that the show has returned for its final season. The first episode teased that one major character may not be returning while a new one is set to make its debut.

The first episode of Chesapeake Shores was recently aired for its final season. Season 6’s premiere episode features the O’Brien family supporting each other after Connor O’Brien (Andrew Francis) suffered a heart attack. Dennis Peck (Malcolm Stewart) is in hiding, Jess O’Brien (Laci J Mailey) and David Marks (Carlos Marks) handle the media fallout, and the person who Abby O’Brien (Meghan Ory) called was finally revealed.

The other returning actors are Carlos Marks as David Peck, Jessica Sipos as Sarah Mercer, Stephen Huszar as Luke Tatum, Abbie and Kayden Magnuson as Caitlyn and Carrie Winters, respectively, Greyston Holt as Jay Ross, and Wesley Salter as Mandrake.

Meanwhile, the new face that’s introduced in the new season is Mariesa Crouse. She takes over the role of Margaret Keller from Raylene Harewood. As per the star who won’t be returning to season 6, Diane Ladd has not confirmed if she’ll be back as Nell O’Brien.

“With the announcement of #chesapeakeshores ending with season 6, I just wanted to say I’m working hard to make it back to Canada to say goodbye, but I’m filming a movie and might not be able,” Ladd wrote in an Instagram post.

“We will see what God has in store,” she added.

Chesapeake Shores  – Is Trace Riley Coming Back To Say Goodbye?

They are also wondering if Jesse Metcalfe is returning as Trace. Fans may recall that he’s Abby’s last love, and he left the show at the beginning of season 5. When he left town, Trace told Abby that he stayed in town for her. He felt that he needed to go away to find something that was missing in his life.

As per executive producer Phoef Sutton, Trace won’t be making any appearance this season. The character is off discovering himself and it was also confirmed that he’s no longer part of the show. Sutton added that he won’t make any brief appearance to say goodbye as the show ends.

Sutton also teased that it was going to be a very exciting year. A lot of things will happen in the final season. Who knows? It may not even be the last time viewers will see the O’Briens, Sutton hinted.
