These four original mystery movies are perfect for curling up on the couch and becoming an amateur sleuth on the Hallmark Channel.
For fans of Hallmark Movies & Mysteries’ original movies, four new options are premiering on Sundays during March and April. The movies feature actors like Taylor Cole, Jill Wagner, Stephen Huszar, Kristoffer Polaha, Candace Cameron Bure, Niall Matter, Victor Webster, and Danica McKeller. Mystery 101: An Education in Murder – Premiering Sunday, March 29 at 9 pm ET/PT
Amy (Jill Wagner) finds it hard to believe her colleague, a Mark Twain scholar had poisoned a professor in order to get his hands on an early draft of Huck Finn. Amy enlists the help of Travis (Kristoffer Polaha) to prove his innocence. It was the retired cop’s predecessor who convicted her friend and he will go to great lengths to ensure the arrest stands. Amy is not alone in wanting the conviction overturned, as a woman is writing a book about the case, linking it to another poisoned professor, who had accused a student of plagiarism.
Ruby Herring Mysteries: Prediction Murder – Premiering Sunday, April 5 at 9 pm ET/PT
Ruby Herring (Taylor Cole) has just been named crime reporter for Seattle 57 News when she starts receiving anonymous tips. This happens after a cold case, involving the unsolved murder of a local tarot card reader, is reopened. She teams up with Seattle PD Detective Jake Killian (Stephen Huszar) to help find the killer. Ruby is encouraged by her retired detective dad, John Herring (John Wesley Shipp) to follow her instincts. Ruby and Jake uncover a plot to frame an innocent person in the case.
Aurora Teagarden Mysteries: Heist and Seek – Sunday, April 12 at 9 pm ET/PT
This mystery movie involves the theft of a rare Elizabethan artifact from the Lawrenceton Library’s annual fundraising event, leading to capital crimes. Aurora Teagarden (Candace Cameron Bure) starts an unconventional investigation and uncovers two murders committed by someone who would do anything to possess the artifact – “Leicester’s Gift,” a Tudor crown – which was on loan from the Seattle Museum of History. The movie also stars Niall Matter and Marilu Henner.
Matchmaker Mysteries: A Fatal Romance – Sunday, April 25 at 9 pm ET/PT
Professional matchmaker Angie Dove (Danica McKellar) is preparing to moderate a writer’s panel at a romance convention when she unexpectedly runs into her old college boyfriend, Ethan Plume (Payne). Ethan has recently taken over the reins at his family’s publishing house. However, a shock is soon to come after bestselling writer, Beatrice Penn (DeLuise) suddenly takes ill onstage.
It turns out she is the victim of fatal poisoning. While Ethan looks like the prime suspect, Angie knows he is not capable of murder, even though they don’t get on. She cooperates with Detective Kyle Carter (Victor Webster) and using the same instincts she has for matchmaking, works to solve the case, while also putting herself at risk.
