Hallmark Channel’s Chesapeake Shores: Can We Expect Season 6?

Chesapeake ShoresThe Hallmark Channel aired the season 5 finale of Chesapeake Shores on Sunday, October 17. However, fans are already clamoring for a sixth season of the popular drama series. Meanwhile, at the time of writing, there has been no news from Hallmark about the renewal of the series. Let’s have a look at the latest season’s ratings and other factors to find out if the series is likely to return.

Hallmark Channel Spoilers – Will There Be A Season 6 For Chesapeake Shores?

Having watched the season 5 finale of the Hallmark Channel drama, Chesapeake Shores, fans are wondering if the show will continue. So far, the channel has been silent about a renewal for a sixth season.

However, TV Series Finale did note that ratings were lower for season 5 of Chesapeake Shores, which is never a good sign. According to the report, season 5 averaged around .10 in the 18-49 age group. This is around 46 percent lower for that demographic from season 4 and 15 percent lower in live+same day viewership ratings.

On average, during season 5, the show attracted a total of 1.45 million per episode. For season 4, episodes attracted 1.8 million viewers. In fact, season 3 was pretty close, at 1.6 to 1.4 million viewers each week. Now, during season 5, viewership is at the lower-end of the scale. It also saw a drop in the valued 18-49 demographic.

Hallmark Channel Spoilers – One thing To Bear In Mind

While this might sound bad, fans should remember that Hallmark announced the cancellation of Good Witch well in advance of the series finale. If the channel did this for Good Witch, it is difficult to imagine they would cancel Chesapeake Shores without warning fans in advance. However, while this does give fans hope, it is no guarantee that there will be a sixth season.

On the bright side, the show’s producer Dan Paulson has promised that he will let fans know as soon as the new season is confirmed. He wrote in a Twitter post, “We’re looking forward to Season 6.”

If the series is renewed for another season when could we expect it to air? Basically, season 6 is likely to debut at around the same time of year that season 5 premiered. Hallmark does tend to keep a consistent schedule for its drama shows. In fact, season 3 debuted on August 5, 2018, while season 2 arrived on August 6, 2017 and the first season aired on August 14, 2016. That means that season 6 of Chesapeake Shores would likely drop in mid-to-late August 2022.

I Didn't watch much this season because Trace was not on it, Trace and Abby should get married before show ends. Bring Back Trace.

This is my favorite show on TV. I waited so long for it to come back, and was so excited. I don’t miss Trace like thought I would, and there is so much more they can do with the show. Please don’t cancel the next season.
