Hallmark Channel’s My Christmas Family Tree Brings Unknown Relatives Into The Mix

The Hallmark Channel’s Countdown to Christmas 2021 is in full swing and is set to bring a less usual holiday movie this weekend. My Christmas Family Tree tells the story of a DNA test that leads to a meeting with unknown family members. Hallmark Channel – My Christmas Family Tree On The Hallmark Channel

As per Hallmark’s synopsis, Vanessa (Aimee Teagarden) has never had a real family to spend the holidays with. However, when she receives the results of her family tree DNA test, she discovers she has relatives she didn’t know existed.

Her biological father, Richard (James Tupper) invites her to spend Christmas with him and his family. Meanwhile, he asks a family friend, Kris (Andrew Walker) – who spends Christmas with them – to pick her up along his way. In the meantime, Kris knows all the details of Vanessa’s new family and helps to break the ice when she first meets Richard’s wife and their three children.

It is a little uncomfortable at first, as Vanessa takes part in the family’s Christmas traditions. However, as the weekend progresses, she meets her grandmother and other relatives. In fact, Vanessa even helps her little sister overcome stage fright before performing in the Christmas pageant.

While Vanessa is finally having a wonderful time getting to know her new family, she receives a message from the DNA testing company. The company shares some surprising news with her that she is worried may jeopardize her holiday.

Hallmark Channel – Cast Of My Christmas Family Tree

The main cast of Hallmark’s My Christmas Family Tree includes Aimee Teagarden (Friday Night Lights, A New Year’s Resolution). Andrew Walker (Christmas Tree Lane, The 27-Hour Day) also stars, along with James Tupper (Revenge, Big Little Lies).

Meanwhile, Walker shared on Instagram that My Christmas Family Tree is unlike any Hallmark movie he has worked on before.

In his post, he shared three beautiful images from the Hallmark movie, writing “Another one in the books!”

His caption continued, “That’s a wrap on #mychristmasfamilytree had such a wonderful time working with these collaborative, kind, talented, creative actors and gem of a director @jasonbourque1. This script was already a special one, but I think it’s going to come together even better than we imagined. This film is unlike any @hallmarkchannel movie I’ve worked on and I can’t wait for you all to see it. ”

Hallmark Channel – When does the original holiday movie premiere?

My Christmas Family Tree debuts on the Hallmark Channel on Saturday, November 13, at 8 pm ET. Should you miss it, encore airings include Sunday, November 14, at 6 pm, Thursday, November 18, at 10 pm, Saturday, November 27, at 12 pm, Friday, December 3, at 10 am, Monday, December 13 at 12:01 am, Wednesday, December 15, at 12 pm, and Friday, December 24, at 11 pm, all times ET.
