Hallmark Channel’s Mystery 101 Episode 8: What We Know So Far

Mystery fans have so far enjoyed seven episodes of the Mystery 101 series of TV movies on the Hallmark Movies & Mysteries Channel. The series features Jill Wagner as Amy Winslow, a literature professor specializing in mystery fiction. She solves crimes together with detective Travis Burke (Kristoffer Polaha) in the small town of Garrison in the Pacific Northwest. They occasionally get help from Amy’s father, Graham (Robin Thomas), a bestselling crime novelist. Episode 8 of the series is coming soon and what can fans expect?

Recap of Mystery 101: Episode 7

To recap episode 7, titled Mystery 101: Deadly History, Amy and Travis investigate the disappearance of her uncle Alastair. He had substantial information about a possible murder of a family heir that happened 50 years ago. Amy and Travis travel to Ithaca, New York, to investigate the case and team up with the local sheriff in an effort to solve the mystery.

However, that episode wasn’t just about mysteries and investigations, as Amy and Travis finally confessed that they love each other. Travis has been gradually getting closer to the Winslow family, particularly to Graham, who he treats like his own father. However, while they spoke of love, the ending of episode 7 jumped into the future, where Amy was engaged to another man.

Hallmark Channel News – What Can We Expect From Mystery 101: Episode 8?

As was hinted in the ending of episode 7, the eighth episode of the Mystery 101 franchise will feature Amy engaged to another man, not Travis. This will no doubt disappoint many fans. However, this will pave the way for the next mystery the pair is set to solve.

When Amy and Travis meet up again for their next investigation, things will be a little awkward, as Travis is assigned to investigate the possible murder of Amy’s fiancé. The storyline certainly sounds exciting, if sad for Amy at the time. Does this mean she and Travis could still end up together?

As a recap, it is possible that Mystery 101: Episode 8 could drop on the Hallmark Movies & Mysteries Channel in late August or early September. We will keep you updated as we know more.

Please let this be an undercover story. Amy and Travis are great together, and we have been waiting for them to declare their feelings for each other. I have never written a comment before, but I was so disappointed with the preview scene in Episode 7. I hope the writers have not decided that they must split up. They have such a genuine dynamic. Do not just drop this aspect of the story. Neither one of them would profess their love lightly. They know how they feel.

Please let Travis and Amy rekindle their feelings.
They are why we watch 101 show when we can. They make us happy. Love the whole cast of characters. I'm stressed out now and can't watch until we know where this is going.

What is wrong with the writers
    Amy and Travis belong together
This is why I watch the show
    Please don’t mess up

This is such a great series. The dynamic and chemistry between these two characters is wonderful. I hope the writers keep there relationship going. This is one of the reasons so many of us love this series.

Please don’t make this ture, Amy and Travis belong together. Lately Hallmark has been making big mistakes by not chosen the correct partner, Hallmark up is up with you .

I want Amy and Travis together. I was shocked at the end of that episode after they declared their love for each other. Make us and them happy and put them back together!!

Disappointed in Season 8 ending. Whos idea was that. If you go the way of Castle TV Series, and break them up, afraid you will lose many viewers, me included.

I am hoping that Amy's "engagement" to another man has to do with a case or something they are investigating. It just CAN"T be true that Amy could love anyone besides Travis. Please, we love their chemistry and mutual respect.

You hit the jackpot when you cast Jill & Kris in Mystery 101. Best chemistry between two characters on Hallmarks Movie & Mystery series. Hopefully we will see another 8 episodes over the coming years to enjoy.

I was very disappointed with the final scene on E7!
Furthermore, I’m wondering if your writers are paying attention to their storyline or if they are setting up for a “spin-off “, as there were so many innuendos, hanging or unresolved issues and relationships in this episode!

I am a big fan of Amy and Travis. Mystery 101 is the best Hallmark mystery series. I would be so disappointed if the writers break up their romance!

If Amy marries someone else after we waited SO long for her and Travis to get together, I am so done with this show. In fact, I'm not even watching episode 7 until I find out. I wish I could tell the writers what I think about this. Disgusted.

I agree. If the series loses the dynamic of Amy and Travis together, I'm done. This has been my favorite series but I will be too disappointed if the writers are going in a different direction. We may suppose they have simply created a way to keep us all interested and in fact are not planning to destroy the best chemistry on any of the mysteries.

My thoughts on all of this:

The build up from 1st to especially 4th episode when they're starting to notice eachother. To where Travis rescues Amy not once but twice from dangerous situations she gets herself in, they share hugs and touches and eye-to-eye moments that are out of this world. And then in 5th and 6th where we FINALLY get to see the first kiss and that Travis is thankful for Amy – as she lunges in to give him a lip lock. To in 7th movie where they start to explore a more romantic relationship with dating and dinner. And the explosion on Travis where he lies there on the ground hurt but when he opens his eyes to see Amy standing over him instead of just lying still he tries to go for a kiss and does it. That moment might be one of my favorite moments. So sweet and caring from Amy towards Travis and he is really showing his feelings and expressing them back since she was the one who kissed first the last time. Then to the 8th movie where the call eachother BF GF and express their emotions to each other.

To have all of this build up and tension and moments to just end IT! With a silly "11 months later" and Amy is engaged to another man! That just isn't fair, right or resonable on any level. So they better have a very good explanation to why they ended up not ending up together and it be them who were engaged to each other.

I can somehow back up this "twist" beacuse I've seen and gotten hooked on my fair share of "partners – solving crimes – falling in love"

  • Guest

…I can back this twist up only because sometimes in shows with extraordinary chemistry like this, when the partners finally get together and the fans get that Catharsis moment they've been so long waiting for. It can sometimes become a little boring or just a straight line if you know what I mean. If the writers caant hold the spark that is. Like in NCIS L.A or Arrow. But any great "partners-finally-becoming-lovers" relationships need a small rift or setback or twist, IF the objection and intention is to get them back together. Then I can totally back this up! Because that Catharsis moment when they a 2nd time confess their love and decide that they were wrong to ever break up, that moment my friends IS WORTH all the wait.

And I can't imagine it being any other way…if it is…I will be so so sad, mad and dissapointed. We will have to wait and see until Feb what happens.

For all you "Baby Boomer's" out there who remember "The NBC Mystery Movie", I am surprised know-one has snatched Kristopher Polaha and Jill Wagner up to star in an updated version of "McMillan and Wife". The original series starred Rock Hudson and Susan Saint James as a great crime fighting duo with outstanding chemistry, just like Amy and Travis have in Mystery 101. If you have never seen "McMillan and Wife" do yourself a favor and rent a copy.

Hallmark does not know a good thing when they have it. They never give any of these mystery shows a chance. I am not too happy with them
