Sorry, hearties, it’s official, we will have to keep waiting a while for season 10 of When Calls the Heart.
Hallmark Channel normally premieres new seasons of When Calls the Heart in the first quarter of the year. Fans will now be disappointed to find out that season 10 is different. The network has revealed that there will be an extended hiatus for the premiere episode, leaving Hearties disappointed.
Hallmark Confirms A Delay On Season 10 Of When Calls The Heart
Hallmark Media Executive VP President of Programming Lisa Hamilton Daly made the announcement. While at the Television Critics Tour Daly revealed that season 10 of When Calls the Heart is set to drop in the middle of 2023.
As reported by Deadline, there has been quite a bit of uncertainty surrounding the popular drama series lately. Hearties will recall that typically, Hallmark renews the series around the same time that the current season is airing. However, that didn’t happen this year, with the season 10 announcement coming one month after season 9 wrapped.
When the announcement came, Daly said:
When Calls the Heart continues to push the limits as to what we can achieve with this show.
There are many more stories still to be told about the lives of the beloved characters in this series, and we cannot wait for everyone at home to tune in to see what unfolds.
New showrunner for WCTH
When the delayed renewal did come, it was announced that Lindsay Sturman had become the new showrunner. Meanwhile, lead actress Erin Krakow said, “I am thrilled that When Calls the Heart is coming back for the tenth season.” She added:
With our amazing cast, crew, and talented writers, we can look forward to more adventures, laughs, tears, and stories of romance throughout the community of Hope Valley.
We are so excited for all the viewers, especially the Hearties, to continue this journey with us!
Hallmark Channel and drama series
While When Calls the Heart remains a top watch for fans, Hallmark has recently started to move away from longer-running series in the last couple of years. Fans were shocked when Good Witch aired its finale season. On top of this, Chesapeake Shores is set to end later this summer.
Despite this, Hallmark Channel does have some new drama series in the works for fans. One is the rodeo-centric Ride, starring Nancy Travis, Beau Mirchoff, and Tiera Skovbye. Another is a family drama, The Way Home, famously starring Andie MacDowell and Chyler Leigh which no doubt will please fans of the channel.

Yes, very disappointed. Always a LONG wait in-between seasons & now even longer, not happy. I could forgive if there were a Christmas movie & more episodes, but don’t count on either.
I agree, its awful.
I am disappointed because I love the show. But can’t do anything about it.
This is disappointing….we will forget what happened by that time. We need more shows like this to be airing instead of the junk that should be cancelled.
I am really disappointed. I eagerly await Sunday nights just to watch WCTH. It is such a wholesome show and refreshing from other channels.
Please air sooner rather than later!!
Very disappointed
Season 9 was disappointing. At least, Lee and Rosemary saved the day!
Disappointed that it will be a longer wait! Very glad they decided to continue the series as WCTH is my FAVORITE show PERIOD. It is always exciting to see good clean shows/movies that you don’t have to be concerned about young children watching or endure immoral scenes that you aren’t comfortable with. WCTH has always provided excitement, encouragement, episode ending heart stops, and funny encounters for all ages! May Hallmark find it in their heart to let this show live on for MANY years onward and create more family-friendly shows like WCTH! #heartieforever
Disappointing is an understatement!
very dissapointed..we all wait for the next season.. then find this out.. by the time it does come out we’ll forget what was going on in the storyline. Get rid of some of the other shows that don’t interest most of us and keep our shows going .
My heart is broken, can’t wait!❤️ Still hoping for Christmas special. Pleeeeeeeeeeeeze❤️
Very disappointed!! The article gave no reason behind the delay!!
Come on Hallmark get your act together. WCTH is popular and you are making us wait? You have competition with GAC now. I would think that would make you want to keep this going sooner than later.
Where are the mystery shows ?? Hate that ♀️
I don’t care that much when it returns. Just hasn’t been the same lately. Yes I am a Nathan fan but you have lost the clean early years storys. She was to be with a Mountie. I have read the books. May watch or not!!
I’m disappointed, yet grateful and glad that we get a season 10. I always look forward to this show as there is nothing on TV that compares to it. Too much junk and same old regurgitating boring stuff. Waiting a few more months
I am sure will be worth it! Bring on more episodes and a Christmas movie would be amazing!
Would not have been a delay if you had not changed showrunner. John Tinker did a fine job bringing the show back from the cliff of Season 8.
I am disappointed that it is not coming on but thank goodness we will get to watch it when it comes on. Was disappointed as I thought shewould end up wiith the mounty.
