Hallmark Star Erin Krakow Reveals She And Luke Macfarlane Went To College Together

Erin Krakow is a huge fan-favorite for her roles in many Hallmark movies, as well as When Calls the Heart. She has starred with many equally fan-favorite actors in the movies and series, but she said she went to college with special fellow cast member, Luke Macfarlane.

Hallmark Channel’s Erin Krakow on When Calls the Heart and Hallmark movies

Hearties might believe that Erin Krakow is only famous for her role as Elizabeth Thornton in When Calls the Heart.

However, she has also starred in many of Hallmark Channel’s beloved movies.

In a recent interview, held before the SAG-AFTRA strike began, Krakow, who most recently starred in The Wedding Cottage opened up about working for Hallmark.

“I feel like I’m really living it out with every project that [Hallmark] offers me. I’m so grateful for the characters I’ve had the pleasure of playing and that I’ve been able to executive produce on When Calls.

It’d be an interesting new challenge to direct something for Hallmark maybe one day and maybe write something someday.”  She added:

I don’t know. I would be curious to know what others would want to see from me if maybe there’s a different kind of character they’d be curious to see me play. But I don’t know that there’s anything that’s screaming at me right now. I’m feeling very happy and grateful with what I’ve been given.

Erin Krakow and Luke Macfarlane went to college together

An interesting tidbit was casually revealed during the TV Insider interview. She opened up about a Hallmark actor she co-starred with in Sense, Sensibility & Snowmen, in which she starred with Luke Macfarlane. It turns out Erin and Luke attended college together.

Speaking of the movie, Krakow said, “This was really fun because Luke Macfarlane and I went to college together in New York.”

She added that Luke “was an upperclassman,” so she looked up to him. However, Erin added that they didn’t really get to work together at college.

“It was a lot of fun to get to work together on this movie and reminisce about our time at school and just become closer pals. He’s a really great guy,” she added, speaking of Sense, Sensibility & Snowmen.

Meanwhile, Erin was among Luke’s Hallmark co-stars who sent him congratulations after he welcomed his first baby with his husband, Hig Roberts.

While recently, it was reported that Macfarlane had starred in his last Hallmark movie, luckily for fans, this changed. He will return to the network in a Christmas movie later this year.
