Is Hallmark Channel Chesapeake Shores Cancelled?

Hallmark Channel fans want to know the future of Chesapeake Shores. The good news is that the network has not canceled the series. That’s right, it’s been renewed! Now for the bad news: we do not have a date for the season 5 premiere yet. However, based on previous years, it should be announced soon. Keep reading to find out the details.

Chesapeake Shores: Canceled Or Renewed?

This is not the only Hallmark TV show that had fans (and cast) waiting anxiously for an update. Since early this year, when the coronavirus pandemic took over, the network has been delaying renewal and cancellation announcements.

Many other shows were in question until the last possible moment. Whether this is being done intentionally, is due to COVID-19, or other reasons isn’t known.

In April 2020, the Hallmark Channel officially renewed Chesapeake Shores for season 5. This was considered quite late since previous renewals were announced in January. However, fans are excited that it was renewed. We are looking forward to seeing what is in store when the show returns with new episodes.

When Will Chesapeake Shores Season 5 Premiere?

The Hallmark Channel previously aired the premieres in August. No date has been announced for season 5 yet, just to expect it “later in 2020.” However, it is already June, so we should find out a premiere date very soon.

Hallmark Channel News: What Is The TV Show About?

The series is based on a set of novels written by Sherryl Woods. It centers on Abby O’Brien (Meghan Ory), a divorced mom of two children. Abby returns to her hometown of Chesapeake Shores, Maryland with her daughters. Their comeback is to help Abby’s sister save her failing inn from foreclosure. However, Abby finds much more in town waiting for her. There is also this synopsis from the network,

“… the O’Briens are a family that must face life’s challenges, but always finds hope in their enduring love toward one another as they navigate life, love, career, and romance.”

In addition to Ory, the series stars Jesse Metcalfe, Treat Williams, Barbara Niven, and Diane Ladd. The official website for the Hallmark Channel also credits Laci Mailey, Brendan Penny, Emilie Ullerup, and Andrew Francis.
