Hallmark Channel premieres A Royal Christmas Crush

While it is getting warm outside, Hallmark Channel is looking forward to its popular Christmas in July programming event. Meanwhile, one of the movies stars a newcomer to Hallmark, Katie Cassidy, and a regular on the network, Stephen Huszar.

According to the official synopsis, A Royal Christmas Crush follows Ava Jensen (Cassidy), a talented architect who travels with her beloved Uncle Karl (Charlie Ebbs) to the enchanting frozen kingdom of Fríðrland. Their task is to build an elaborate ice castle for the Royal Family, a tradition that goes back almost 200 years.

Each year, the nation’s Royal Family gathers at the ice castle to relax and get away while planning for the annual Royal Christmas Ball. Meanwhile, Ava gets to meet the handsome Prince Henry (Huszar), the heir to the throne and one of the most eligible bachelors in the world.

While the pair might be from totally different worlds, Ava and Prince Henry become smitten with each other. In fact, the Prince is impressed by Ava’s talents and asks her to help him with his big speech. In the process, they began to learn more about each other.

However, things aren’t always as magical as they seem. Moreover, as the palace’s scheming Director of Logistics, Brigitta (Angela Beshara) seeks to restore the family’s nobility and status. She is determined to win the charming Prince over for her own daughter, the beautiful Sigrid (Kathryn Kohut). With so much at stake, Brigitta does her best to sabotage the new budding romance between Prince Henry and Ava. However, as the Prince and architect get closer, hearts may already be melting in this winter wonderland ice palace.

One of the lead roles in A Royal Christmas Crush is played by new Hallmark star, Katie Cassidy, of Arrow, Gossip Girl and The Flash fame, as Ava. She stars alongside Stephen Huszar at Prince Henry, who has been seen in many Hallmark movies, including Love in Glacier National: A National Park Romance, as well as The Flash, Fringe and Supernatural.

Ava’s Uncle Karl is played by Charlie Ebbs, who has starred in Six Degrees of Santa, Anon, Hangman and Real Detective. Meanwhile, Angela Besharah stars as Brigitta and is known for her roles in Circuit Breakers, Accused and Star Trek: Strange New Worlds. Brigitta’s daughter, Sigrid, is played by Kathryn Kohut of Fly Away With Me, Left Behind: Rise of the Antichrist and Spare Parts. The movie also stars Glenn Gyorffy in an uncredited role, who has starred in American Gods, Take Note and Fear Thy Neighbor.
