Kevin McGarry Dishes On Season 9 Of When Calls The Heart

When Calls The HeartWhen Calls the Heart fans have noticed that Kevin McGarry is keeping busy with Hallmark Channel lately. In fact, his latest role was with Lacey Chabert in The Wedding Veil trilogy. Next week, fans will get to see him again in the premiere of the movie Feeling Butterflies. However, he will also return for season 9 of When Calls the Heart on March 6. McGarry was recently interviewed and spoke about what he termed his “takeover of Hallmark Channel.”

Recently, Kevin McGarry sat down for a chat with MediaVillage about his work for Hallmark Channel. When he was asked if he is taking over Hallmark, he joked, “Yeah, my plan is almost complete.”

McGarry recently starred in the much-loved The Wedding Veil trilogy with Lacie Chabert. Meanwhile, he also mentioned his upcoming movie Feeling Butterflies, in which he co-stars with his real-life love, Kayla Wallace. He said the movie has “something to do with butterflies” and that all he needs is an Easter movie. According to McGarry, once he does a movie with bunnies, they will actually just give him the network.]

As Hearties know, McGarry became a fan-favorite on When Calls the Heart, which he joined in the sixth season. He went on to become a part of the famous Nathan-Elizabeth-Lucas love triangle. As fans know, Elizabeth (Erin Cahill) finally admitted her feelings for Lucas at the end of season 8, leaving Nathan (McGarry) heartbroken.

Speaking of his character’s broken heart, Kevin said with Nathan, there is no pretending about what happened at the end of season 8, and moving into season 9. He said this was made clear at the end of Elizabeth’s talk with Lucas (Chris McNally) that she was in love with him. However, Nathan does want Elizabeth to be happy, so he does try to help out.

According to Kevin, season 9 will open with Nathan “in a better place.” While he still clearly cares for Elizabeth, and that’s not going to go away, maybe there is something later for Nathan. McGarry said fans will have to tune in to find out.

While his character has been given closure, Kevin said he now feels more a part of the show’s cast. He said he thinks for the last three years, his character has been “a bit of an outsider.” According to Kevin, that was fun to play. He said this was especially so in a show where usually everyone is happy, and now Nathan will have to make the best of things.

When Calls The Heart – Will Nathan McGarry Find New Love On When Calls The Heart?

When Kevin was asked if Nathan will find new love, he kept his lips sealed, saying, “They’d shoot me if I said anything.” However, he did say starting season 9 with a clean story slate was great. After being part of a love triangle for the last three years, he said it was “refreshing in a way.”

According to McGarry, now the love triangle is resolved, their characters get to move on and be “fleshed out a little more.” After everything revolved around Elizabeth and who she would pick, it now feels like things have changed and they are in new territory.
