Earlier this year, the Hallmark Channel announced that Chesapeake Shores was being renewed, which means fans will get to see season 5. There was some concern over the renewal because it seemed to be taking a long time to find out any news. However, Chesapeake Shores was not the only TV show to go through this. Other Hallmark television series’ also seemed to get the green light at the last minute. We are simply drumming that up to the COVID-19 pandemic, which probably delayed things for the network that most people aren’t even aware of.

Hallmark Channel News – What is the Hallmark TV Show About?

For those that haven’t seen Chesapeake Shores and want to know what all the fuss is about, it really is a great TV show. It is based on the novels by New York Times bestselling author Sherryl Woods. It follows three generations of women from the O’Brien family. It stars Jesse Metcalfe, Meghan Ory, Treat Williams, Barbara Niven, Diane Ladd, Laci Mailey, Brendan Penny, Emilie Ullerup, and Andrew Francis.

According to the Hallmark Channel website, the show follows Abby O’Brien, a high-powered career woman who is recently divorced with children. She ends up going back home. She rekindles her former romance with Trace, however, there are complications. There are also challenges within the O’Brien family.

Chesapeake Shores season 5 will be 10 episodes and is scheduled to air on Sunday nights. It is due to premiere in the summer of 2021.
