Hallmark When Calls the Heart fans are still devastated by Jack Thornton’s death. Hollywood Actor Daniel Lissing recently talked about his exit during a Facebook Live video chat. The actor explained that he left for “very personal reasons” and when he told the show and his co-stars, everyone was extremely understanding and supportive.
Jack Thornton’s Death
WCTH fans remember in season 5 when Jack wrote a letter to Elizabeth Thornton (Erin Krakow). However, it would be the last time she would ever hear from him. Jack ended up dying, just like he feared that he would. It was a heartbreaking and devastating scene for viewers.
WCTH Fans Still Devastated
Even though Jack died in season 5 and we are going into season 8 now, fans are still upset. Elizabeth did take time to grieve and is now a single parent. However, she is beginning to move on. We are seeing her in a love triangle with Nathan Grant (Kevin McGarry) and Lucas Bouchard (Chris McNally). However, some viewers still want Jack to somehow come back despite the character being dead.
Daniel Lissing Addresses Exit
The When Calls the Heart alum held a Facebook Live and discussed him leaving the show. His decision had nothing to do with the popular Hallmark TV show. It was based on a “very personal” reason. He said,
“Circumstances arose for me where I needed to leave ‘When Calls the Heart’ for reasons that are very personal to me. I went to Hallmark and they were nothing but supportive of me. I went to the girls and they were nothing but supportive of me.”
When Calls the Heart: Elizabeth Thornton Moving On
Even though we all miss Jack and his beautiful love story with Elizabeth, the widow is moving on. In season 8, it looks like we might see a resolution to her love triangle. The actress teased on Twitter that there will be plenty of romance. Plus, Erin posted photos on Instagram that show her character not wearing her rings. She was also dressed in a very bold red skirt, which is uncharacteristic for a woman in that time period.
We certainly miss Jack Thornton and the actor who played him. However, we respect Daniel Lissing’s decision and wish him the very best in his future endeavors.
