One fan reached out to Erin Krakow (Elizabeth Thornton) on social media, who was taken aback to hear the rumor. She explained that she has not heard anything about the show ending with season 8. The actress also said she hopes it continues because there are still a lot of stories to tell.

Creator Brian Bird has also indicated that he has more stories to tell as long as the network still wants them on the air.
