When Calls the Heart spoilers reveal that Kavan Smith, who plays Lee Coulter, opened up to ET about the personal attacks.

“I was a little bit disappointed about how vitriolic it got. I have always said that with this show in particular that the fan response has been always so overwhelmingly positive. So, I was surprised. I was pretty taken aback by some of the personal attacks that I’m not going to spend any time defending them. But I just think that some of the personal attacks seem to not completely understand all the decision-making that goes into a show. It’s not just because we were trying to drag people along and then change the plot at the last minute. Sometimes, these choices are made for filming purposes because it’s the only way we can make the show. Certain choices are made that the average person in the audience may not see.”

We all can get passionate about our interests, including TV shows, and sometimes we get carried away. However, personal attacks toward an actor make no sense. The actors are just playing a part. If fans don’t like the writing, then they need to direct their concerns to the writing team. With that being said, personally attacking anyone won’t change anything. After all, season 8 has already finished airing.

If Elizabeth’s decision is really affecting your real-life so profoundly, you could reach out to the writing team. Calmly explain your logic and why your ending would have made more sense. Sometimes, they will even answer you and explain why they had to do it the way they did.
