Grace and Chuck developed a romantic relationship during season 1. But before season 1 ended, Grace had to accompany an orphan named Helen, on a long journey to London. Grace wanted to say goodbye to Chuck before leaving. But Chuck’s mother Tess (Wendy Crewson) was bent on keeping them apart. So, she sent Chuck on a cattle drive without telling him about Grace’s plan.

Fortunately, Chuck learned about Grace’s plan to leave and managed to return to Brookfield just in time for him to say goodbye to her. They shared a passionate kiss before she left for London.

In When Hope Calls: A Country Christmas, it was revealed that Grace and Chuck are now staying in London.

Grace didn’t return from London. Lilian revealed that Grace decided to stay in London and is reading bedtime stories to orphans. As for Chuck, he decided to follow her, a decision that left his mother unhappy.

Tess has no one else left in Brookfield, given that she’s already a widow. Losing Chuck left her feeling frustrated and she vented it all out to her employees. Her workers decided to quit after the tough ranch owner demands that all her employees work during Christmas Day.
