Why Was When Calls The Heart Season 9 Pushed Back?

When Calls The Heart (WCTH) fans heard a few different dates for Season 9’s premiere. Well, this week, the actual date was finally announced by Hallmark. It now comes along on March 6, a full month after fans hoped for it. A lot of fans seem a bit disappointed, but apparently, there’s a very good reason for it. Additionally, they want to know why it was delayed. Now, a post was shared that gave an explanation.

Hallmark fans are in for something of a treat in Season 9. Instead of the usual 10 episodes, they get to see 12 of them. Unfortunately, they need to wait an additional month for it to premiere. Hearties can’t wait to pick up and follow along with Erin Krakow, (Elizabeth Thornton.) They really hope she finds her forever love at the altar. Recall, in Season 8, she and Lucas Bouchard, (Chris McNally),  got into some serious PDA. Certainly, it seems like Jack Thornton, (Daniel Lissing) is not coming back. At least, in this lifetime.

When Calls The Heart fans saw Elizabeth on the verge of committing to guys in the past. And yet, she seems plagued by doubts and a lot of bad luck. The 1910-era romantic drama is typical of any love story, and a conclusion seems eternally just out of reach. The synopsis for Season 9 reveals that as Elizabeth “gets to know Lucas better, she learns about his past which gives [her] pause about their future.” Well, fans saw her in that sort of quandary in the past. But, they have to wait a bit longer to find out what goes down, as the premiere was delayed until March 2022.

When Calls The Heart – Premiere Delayed – Why?

When Erin Krakow shared the March premiere date, a lot of Hearties felt relieved. One of them commented, “We heard girl, we have heard! 👏✨ And the hearties have been excited all day. I think they even fell asleep early from being so excited. Lol.” Meanwhile, others thanked her for clarifying the premiere date. Then, across social media, the rumbling of discontent stared. Well, Brian Bird explained that it’s actually in the best interests of fans. The news came in a tweet on January 6.

Tweeter Gina Christine shared a post by When Calls The Heart‘ Brian Bird. Gina said, “S9 was indeed pushed back due to the Winter Olympics, as some suggested.” Brian’s post noted that Hallmark took a lot of care when deciding on the best time to air. Hallmark didn’t want fans to have to decide which program to watch. Actually, it’s not unusual for the Olympics and other major sporting events to clash with popular shows.

Hallmark Want To Assure Fans They Are Their Priority

When Calls The Heart fans are not being messed about by the production team. Brian confirmed, “Bottom LIne, this push is for you Hearties.” Next, he added, “You are the reason for the season.”
