In the episode that aired last week, Katie got a glimpse into Derek’s past as he shared items of his past with her. This included a poem that Derek had written when he was in high school. She thought that since the poem was deep and involved love, Derek had been loved before, and that made her jealous. Learning about his past dates increases her jealousy as she made a moment about Derek’s past about her own emotions.

Married at First Sight Spoilers – Katie Conrad Ruins the Fun

In this week’s episode, the pair go on a couple’s retreat, which starts off with her admitting to the audience that she is still upset about what she learned about Derek’s past. As time goes on, she gets upset about many other things, including his closeness to other girls. She says that she wants to be treated better than he treats the other woman.

On top of that, she became upset that the other women saw him as being amazing. She rationalizes this by saying that they do not know what their relationship is like and that Derek is not perfect. Throughout the whole night, Katie complains about how Derek does not initiate anything, including intimacy. However, viewers were not on Katie’s side, especially when they hear that she was menstruating but still wanted him to be intimate with her even though he was not comfortable with that.

According to the preview for the next episode, Katie will continue to give Derek the short end of the stick as decision time is coming around. She tells her dad that Derek is a child and then teases Derek by asking him if he thought she would say yes to staying married.

It does seem like Katie is being manipulative towards Derek by continually making him feel like he is not doing anything right when it looks like he is putting forth the effort. What do you think?
