Raise your hand if you believe that Eddie Redmayne was a fantastic and wonderful News Scamander and you would love to see more of him as the iconic character.
He starred as the main character across the three movies in the ‘Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them’ franchise, and he’s reportedly filmed a special scene to make the wizarding world of Harry Potter at Universal even more magical for fans.
New ‘Harry Potter’ Land At Universal Taps Eddie Redmayne For A ‘Fantastic Beasts’ Special
Ladies and gentlemen, our favorite magizoologist is returning, and like always, it’s going to be a magical experience.
Eddie Redmayne has reportedly filmed scenes that will appear somewhere in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter — Ministry of Magic land. The new park will open as part of the resort’s highly anticipated theme park Epic Universe in 2025, per an insider.
The ‘Harry Potter’ spinoff is largely set in the 1920s, and while ‘Harry Potter’ was mostly set in England, the franchise traveled between New York, London and Paris for its three movies.
At the moment, Newt’s role in the park is yet to be officially confirmed by Universal, but they did promise to include a live theater show that involves the ringmaster of Le Cirque Arcanus, who performs a show with the stolen Newt case of magical creatures, so it’s reasonable he may make an appearance thereabouts.
To make the park even more interactive, there will be wandering wizards that guests can talk to, and according to what Universal has teased so far, some will be exchange students from Hogwarts and Ilvermorny, with one French auror in their midst.
But since both the live show and wandering wizards role will make more sense with a live Newt rather than a recorded one, it’s possible Newt’s appearance will be part of a currently unannounced attraction.
Per the press release, the upcoming attraction, which will be partially set within the British Ministry of Magic, will be the most elaborate and “most impressive attractions to date.”
Employing a new omnidirectional technology, fans can get to enjoy rides going through sprawling environments in vessels that move up, down, forward, backward, and sideways.
With a new ‘Harry Potter’ series coming to ignite the love for the magical franchise in the younger generation, this park, you could say, is coming at just the right time.
