Harrison Ford just confirmed a fifth Indiana Jones movie. The actor who plays the iconic character is ready for his next adventure. He previously revealed to Ellen DeGeneres on her daytime talks show that production for the fifth Indiana Jones is underway this summer. During another appearance on CBS Sunday Morning, which aired on Feb. 16, the actor said that production will start as soon as two months from the time the interview was filmed.
The host asked Ford if another Indiana Jones movie was happening. “It’s going to be fun,” Ford confirmed. “I am excited. They’re great fun to make.” Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull came out in 2008, which came out 20 years after the third film. Raiders of the Lost Ark, Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, and Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade were released in 1981, 1984, and 1989, respectively, according to a CNN report.
Harrison Ford Teases Indiana Jones 5
During his interview on CBS, Ford says he feels “responsible” anytime he returns to an iconic role, whether it’s in Star Wars or Indiana Jones. “I feel obliged to make sure that our efforts are as ambitious as they were when we started,” Ford admitted. While he’s been in many iconic roles for over 40 years, the 77-year-old actor doesn’t feel an obligation to be a leading man. He said that’s not on his mind anymore. However, Ford is the biggest name in his new film, The Call of the Wild, based on the novel by Jack London.
“Look, I’ve enjoyed every job I’ve ever had, because I love the work,” Ford said. “But I don’t’ have to be a leading man anymore.” The legendary actor was also asked whether he could reveal any details about the new Indiana Jones movie. But he’s been sworn to secrecy. There’s one question he could answer. Ford explained the challenges he’s faced when he returns to the iconic roles of Han Solo and Indiana Jones after several decades.

“Tyin’ not to look silly, you know, running around in tight pants and high boots,” Ford said. “I’ll give you a more appropriate answer, considering that I’m gonna start doing Indiana Jones in about two months. You know [the reason] we have the opportunity to make another is because people have enjoyed them. I feel obliged to make sure that our efforts are as ambitious as they were when we started.”
Ford made it clear that he’s not comfortable with interviews. But he understands that talking about new projects is part of the job. What are your thoughts on a fifth Indiana Jones movie? Are you excited over the news? Sound off below in the comments section
