Michael Keaton Reprises Role As Batman For HBO Max’s Batgirl Movie

Batgirl spoilers and updates tease that Michael Keaton will once again play the role of Bruce Wayne. Fans will surely be delighted to see the actor wear the Bat suit once again.

Fans may recall that he appeared as Batman, which was aired on the big screen in 1989 and Batman Returns in 1992. The actor will once again suit up as the famous superhero for HBO Max’s upcoming Batgirl movie, which is set to air sometime in 2022. No specific premiere date has been set yet for the film.

There’s no release date yet for this film. The HBO Max film, which is from DC and Warner Bros, will focus on Barbara Gordon. Aside from this, Keaton will also reprise his role in The Flash, which is due to air in theaters on November 4, 2022.

Batgirl is directed by Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah, the film-makers of Bad Boys for Life. Leslie Grace will play the role of Batgirl, who’s the daughter of Commissioner Jim Gordon, and the leading character of the movie. The film has already started production in London. Batgirl is written by Christina Hodson (Birds of Prey). It is only one of the many projects in HBO Max’s pipeline.

Aside from Keaton, J.K. Simmons will once again take on the role of Commissioner Gordon, whom fans may recall from Justice League. Viewers can also expect to see Brendan Fraser as part of the cast. Fraser won’t be reprising his role as Cliff Steele or Robotman from DC’s Doom Patrol series. He will reportedly play the role of a villain, Firefly.

Michael Keaton Spoilers – First Look At Batman

Keaton’s reappearance as Batman made the headlines in June 2020. Last October, fans got a first look at Keaton wearing the Bat suit once again during the DC FanDome. As per Hollywood Reporter, Keaton’s character could be similar to Samuel L. Jackson’s Nick Fury, who appears in different projects as a mentor figure.

Meanwhile, two new spin-off series will be developed from the upcoming The Batman movie, which stars Robert Pattison. The first one is a prequel that tells the story of Gotham City while the second spin-off will focus on “The Penguin’s rise to power in the Gotham criminal world,” as per Colin Farrell, who’ll play the role of The Penguin in The Batman.
