Netflix’s Enola Holmes Is Getting A Sequel

Netflix Enola Holmes17-year-old Millie Bobby Brown and Superman star Henry Cavill are set to return for the sequel of the 2020 Netflix film. Brown and Cavill are siblings in the film, with Brown playing the character of Enola Holmes created by Nancy Springer and Cavill playing the very famous character Sherlock Holmes originally created by Arthur Conan Doyle.

The film received generally positive reviews from critics who mostly praised Brown’s performance.

The franchise is based on a series of books by Nancy Springer, The Enola Holmes Mysteries, which introduces the character Enola Holmes as the youngest of the famous Holmes family.

Following the performance of the first film, the streaming service has decided to renew it for yet another run.

Netflix Enola Holmes Sequel Details

As of the time of Netflix announcing a sequel to the young adult version of one of the most famous fictional characters in history, returning characters are Millie Bobby Brown, who will reprise her character as Mycroft and Sherlock Holmes’ kid sister Enola Holmes and Henry Cavill, one of the many actors to portray the iconic detective Sherlock Holmes. There is no information yet regarding the fate of Sam Claflin’s Mycroft in the film’s sequel.

“The sequel is afoot!” Netflix began the announcement shared on their social media pages on May 13. “The adventure continues as Millie Bobby Brown & Henry Cavill return to the world of ENOLA HOLMES, reteaming with director Harry Bradbeer & writer Jack Thorne on a second film based on Nancy Springer’s book series about Sherlock Holmes’ brilliant sister.”

The movie will be produced by Legendary in “partnership with Netflix.”

Millie Bobby Brown On Returning To Play Enola Holmes In The Upcoming Sequel

Millie Bobby Brown played the highly intelligent, resourceful, and independent younger sister to Doyle’s Mycroft and Sherlock Holmes. Her performance in the movie received widespread critical acclaim from critics and fans as well.

Brown appeared on Variety to announce the sequel to Netflix’s Enola Holmes, saying that she’s excited to be able to get back into the world of Enola Holmes and portray the intelligent character who outsmarted not only criminals but her two big detective brothers.

“I can’t wait to collaborate again with my ‘Enola Holmes’ family,” Brown shared.

“Enola holds a special place in my heart — she’s strong, fearless, intelligent, and brave. I look forward to fans seeing how her journey continues!”

In the 2020 film, Enola Holmes embarked on a journey to find her missing mother, while dodging the tracks of older siblings, in 20th century London.

This is the latest project for Brown who will also star in season 4 of Netflix’s Stranger Things as Eleven. As for Henry Cavill, fans are waiting on the second season of The Witcher which he stars in.
