Neighbours Spoilers: Nicola Charles Teases Return

Ex-Neighbours star Nicola Charles has revealed that she would love to return to the soap. The British born Australian actress recently revealed that she is in talks with the producers of Neighbours regarding a permanent return to the show.

Nicola’s debut as Sarah was aired in 1996 and famously saw her embroiled in an affair with local doctor Karl Kennedy. After a turbulent three years in Erinsborough Nicola left the show in 1999 but has returned for many guest appearances.

The last of these came two years ago in 2016 which saw Nicola diagnosed with cancer, alongside the introduction of her son Angus (played by Australian signer Jai Waetford). Sarah was thankfully given the all clear in 2017 and is now recovering in Germany, paving a way for a happy return.

In the meantime, Nicola invested her time in many musical projects, both in America and the United Kingdom. Alongside this, she continued with her acting and stared in several other projects between America, the United Kingdom and Australia.

Talking to Daily Mail Australia, Nicola revealed, “I feel bad for the decision I made a long time ago to leave and for the character. I believed at the time that I was leaving for all the right reasons. I moved back here [Australia] in 2012 from Los Angeles with the premise of going back on the show, and I did go back on from 2012 to 2013, and then again in 2016, but it wasn’t full-time.”

On the subject of returning, Nicola said, “I’ve had a conversation with Jason [Herbison], and I’m going to meet him for coffee to discuss what’s happening, I think it would be marvellous, I’d love to go back.”
