Netflix ‘The Night Agent’: Premiere Date Revealed

Netflix’s latest action thriller series, The Night Agent, is approaching its premiere window. The show was introduced by Sony Pictures Television on December 2020. Based on Matthew Quirk’s novel of the same name, the series’ streaming rights were acquired by Netflix in 2021. With Seth Gordon as the pilot director, The Night Agent will have a total of 10 episodes with Gabriel Basso cast as the lead character Peter Sutherland. The series tells the tale of Peter, an FBI agent, who receives a mysterious call that catapults him into an investigation that changes his life.

He tries to locate a Russian mole who is seated at one of the highest levels of the US government. In his attempt to save the nation, he dives deep into his hunt for the Russian traitor. He starts working with Rose Larking (Luciane Buchanan), a terrorized CEO, who seeks protection after assassins try to kill her uncle and aunt.

In the trailer that dropped earlier this month, the protagonist was seen offering his seat to a woman on the subway. This was followed by a series of tense moments that briefly showcase what fans can expect without giving away a lot about the story.

Basso looks quite compelling in the character of the low-level FBI agent. He is able to perfectly capture his character’s resilience and determination without a hint of strain. The 28-year-old American actor has also been a part of several other TV shows and movies like Super 8, The Kings Of Summer, and The Big C, among others.

Apart from Gabriel and Luciane, another key character in the show is Hong Chau, who plays Diane Farr, the President’s Chief Of Staff. She helps Peter investigate Rose’s harrowing brush up with the assassins and understand what happened to her uncle and aunt. In doing so, she helps Peter figure out who he can trust.
