Barron Trump: The Essential Cheat Sheet On The Former First Son’s Life

Donald and Melania Trump welcomed their only child Barron in 2006. As a result of Donald Trump’s presidency, Barron spent four years in the White House but somehow he’s managed to avoid the spotlight.

Part of the reason for that is that Barron just turned 18 this year, leading to a looser, more hands-off policy in regard to the teen. Here’s what to know about this world stage up and comer!

Barron Trumps Early Life

Donald began his term in January 2017, but Barron moved into the residence that summer. His mother Melania Trump is said to be very protective of her son, with a source telling People that “Barron has always been a first priority in [Melania’s] life.”

In contrast, Melania said that Donald was surprised when she “told him he’d be a daddy. And his reaction was … at first he needed to take it in. It was a real surprise. And then he was very happy.”

On March 20, 2006, Melania gave birth to Barron and Donald chose not to be present in the delivery room. He later stated: “Everyone’s perfect. She’s really happy and it’s really great.”

Donald Chose His Son’s Name

Despite not being with Melania when she gave birth, Donald was the one to choose Barron’s name!

As one might expect of the son of the POTUS Barron has attended exclusive schools including Columbia Grammar and Preparatory School on Manhattan’s Upper West Side and St. Andrew’s Episcopal School in Potomac, Maryland.

Friends in High Places

Once Barron became First Son, he took some bullying online. But former first daughters Chelsea Clinton and Jenna Bush Hager came to his defense.

Chelsea wrote in an article that “It’s high time the media & everyone leave Barron Trump alone & let him have the private childhood he deserves.”

Barron’s Basketball Future?

Barron is 6 feet, 7 inches tall and during one speech Donald said of Barron: “you’re gonna be a basketball player. He said, ‘well I like soccer dad, actually.’ I thought … at your height I like basketball better but you can’t talk them into everything.”

That seemed to be the case more recently when Barron declined the chance to represent Florida at the 2024 Republican National Convention, although some say that Melania is the one who said no.

Nonetheless, Barron was at his first campaign rally this week, in Florida. His proud papa noted “You’re pretty popular, he might be more popular than Don and Eric. So Barron, it’s good to have you. [He’s] had such a nice, easy life. Now, it’s a little bit changed.”

Barron is Bilingual In English And Slovenian

Barron speaks English and Melania’s native Slovenian. Both of his parents believe that the “more languages you speak, better it is, but when you come to America, you speak English.”
