Details On Melania Trump’s Fierce Desire For Independence From Donald Trump

Melania and Donald Trump are in the headlines as the RNC approaches in July. While it was announced that their only child Barron Trump would nominate his father as the party’s presidential nominee at the convention in Wisconsin, Melania refuted this claim.

Maybe the left hand doesn’t know what the right is doing in the Trump household? Here are some intriguing tidbits about what how far Melania is willing to go to remain independent from her famous husband!

Donald And Melania Trump’s – Private Life

Melania and Donald have been married for nearly two decades. She is a former supermodel and he was a successful businessman before his one term as POTUS.

According to DailyMail.com, their union is both unconventional and “deeply independent.” What does that mean?

For starters, after Trump was sworn into office in 2016, Melania told Harper’s Bazaar: “I’m choosing not to go political in public because that is my husband’s job.”

She added: “I’m very political in my private life, and between me and my husband I know everything that is going on. I have my own mind. I am my own person, and I think my husband likes that about me.”

The Slovenian-born Melania has been praised as a hands-on mom to her son Barron, whom she gave birth to in 2006 at age 35.

Melania Trump – Is Independent

Melania reportedly did not use a nanny for Barron and told People magazine in 2015 “He needs somebody as a parent there, so I am with him all the time. As you know, my husband is traveling all the time.”

She is also an entrepreneur, with a skin-care line and jewelry collections. She told Parenting Magazine that her life is very normal, saying “Maybe for some people they would not think that. But for me it is. I know my husband. We have a great relationship. We are both very independent. We know what our roles are and we are happy with them.”

But, despite her allegiance to her independence, Melania raised eyebrows on June 14 when she did not attend Donald’s 78th birthday party at the Palm Beach County Convention Center.

Melania Trump – Missed Donald’s 2024 Birthday Party

Because of her taste for independence, pundits are speculating about whether or not the mom of one will reside in the White House if her husband wins a second term this fall.

Barron graduated from high school this year and he is reportedly going to New York University in autumn. This has some thinking that Melania will split her time between the Mar-a-Lago estate in Palm Beach, Florida, and her New York City penthouse.

If Melania does not live in Washington, she would be the first FLOTUS to shun the White House. But given her obvious desire to blaze her own trail, this is a distinct possibility.

Kate Andersen Brower has written several books on first ladies and she told Axios that Melania is “distancing herself even more from her husband and from the Washington social political scene. I mean, she clearly hated being in Washington.”
