How Bad Were The Failed Trump Family Marriages?

The Trump family comes as close to American royalty as one can get these days. They are wealthy, powerful, beautiful and yet in so many ways they are just like us.

No one has a perfect life and the Trump family epitomizes that sentiment. Here is what you need to know about how some of the Trump family marriages stack up.

Donald And Ivana Trump

Donald Trump’s first wife was the late Ivana Zelníčková. They met at a party in 1976 and married in 1977. They had three children together: Ivanka, Donald Jr., and Eric.

It’s not a secret that Donald was unfaithful during his marriage to Ivana. She was incredibly forthright about her life with the business mogul and that included his parenting style.

According to Ivana, her husband was only interested in his kids when they were talking about business. This seems to be a simple statement of fact coming from Ivana, not bitter grapes. That’s because Donald Trump Jr. also acknowledged that his father was always too busy to give him much attention.

In 1988 Ivana told Vanity Fair: “I think it’s upsetting to people that Donald and I have it all: we’re young, we’re healthy, we love our work, and we have a good marriage and children on top of that! People just can’t stand that.”

However, roughly one year later, Donald began seeing Marla Maples a woman he met in 1985. Ivana filed for divorce in 1990.

Donald Trump put a ring on it with Marla Maples in 1993 just a few months after the birth of their child, Tiffany Trump. Three years later rumors started that Marla Maples was cheating on Trump, including a tryst with singer Michael Bolton.

Maples was also accused of having a fling with her bodyguard on the beach in 1996. Given this history, it shouldn’t be a surprise that the couple divorced in 1999.

Robert Trump And Blaine Beard

The late Robert Trump was Donald Trump’s younger brother. Robert married Blaine Beard in 1984 and in 1987, Blaine told The New York Times that Robert was the person who made decisions for her. To get around his allegedly controlling ways, Blaine and her younger sister would speak Japanese around him!

Sadly, Robert cheated on his wife with his secretary, Ann Marie Pallan. When Blaine discovered the truth in 2004 she allegedly took too many sleeping pills by mistake and was rushed to the hospital. Page Six reported that Blaine and Robert entered a two-year legal dispute that was settled in 2009.

Donald Jr. And Vanessa Trump

Donald Trump Jr. met his first wife Vanessa in 2003. They were married by 2005, but sources claimed that Don Jr. “was stingy to Vanessa, lived a separate life, and didn’t spend nearly enough time at home.” It was reported after Don Jr. joined the 2011 cast of “The Apprentice” that he had an affair with contestant Aubrey O’Day.

Vanessa apparently discovered the truth in 2012 but they went on to have two more kids. In 2018 Vanessa received a large inheritance and filed for divorce. Don Jr. is dating political celebrity Kimberly Guilfoyle and they are thought to be engaged.
