Melania Trump has done the First Lady thing full-time before, and she says no thank you to doing it again, especially when so much time has passed and her only child is now in college. To paraphrase it, Melania wants to be a mom first.
Ie can’t say we didn’t see this coming, especially with the laid-back approach she employed in supporting her husband’s Presidential campaign.
Insider Claims Melania Trump Won’t Participate In Very Engaging First Lady Duties
While Melania intends to move into the White House with her husband, she, however, doesn’t see it as a permanent home as she will be splitting her time between New York, Florida and Washington, DC. The reason for this is “so she can be the hands-on mother to Barron that she is.”
“Melania will be the first lady, but only on her terms,” an insider shared. What this means is that there will be “no ladies tea and no — or very few — interviews,” but she’ll likely be making time for “big events.”
“She views winning as the main show, and the rest she’ll do as she pleases,” the Mar-a-Lago source continued. “She’s really in the driver’s seat as to her duties at the White House. “She’s really in the driver’s seat as to her duties at the White House. Melania will be a part time first lady — while being a full-time mother and wife.”
At present, the Trumps maintain their residence at Trump Tower on Fifth Avenue in Manhattan, where 18-year-old Barron lives as he enjoys his first year at New York University, even though they live at Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach.
In Late September, the newly minted First Lady sat down with Fox News to discuss her young son Barron, 18, and his college dreams.
“I could not say I’m an empty nester. I don’t feel that way. It was his decision to come here, that he wants to be in New York, study in New York, and live in his home and I respect that,” she explained, adding, “He’s enjoying his college days. I hope he will have a great experience because his life is very different than any other 18-, 19-year-old child.”
She’s also not working up a sweat on how to approach her duties as First Lady since she’s already got prior experience.
“This time is different,” she said. “I have much more experience and much more knowledge. I was in the White House before. When you go in, you know exactly what to expect.”
