1000-Lb Sisters Spoilers – Tammy Mourns Husband’s Death

Tammy Slaton has turned to Instagram to express her heartbreak over the death of her husband. The 1000-Lb Sisters star’s spouse Caleb Willingham died at only 40. And his stepmother, Shirley Willingham, confirmed the passing on Saturday, July 1, according to Us magazine. 

But although the cause of death remains unknown, Tammy focused on her memories of her late husband. And the 36-year-old 1000-Lb Sisters star wrote, “Rip sweet angel. You will forever be missed and loved so much.” Slaton also posted throwback pics of herself with Caleb. And she added, “Thank you Caleb for showing me real love and happiness ❤️❤️.”

The 1000-Lb Sisters star met Caleb during her time at an Ohio rehab facility. Both Tammy and Willingham had sought treatment there for obesity-related problems. And in an episode of 1000-Lb Sisters, Caleb shared the difference that Slaton made to him.

In the episode featuring Caleb, he told other rehab patients that “Tammy actually saved my life.” And he recalled how he felt without oxygen. “I was sitting hurting, in pain, tears falling down my face,” shared Willingham. “And she got help. It meant the world to me because you showed kindness.”

Caleb also shared that Slaton’s own weight loss success gave him the inspiration to go to the rehab facility. “Just hearing about how well somebody was able to do [made me take the plunge],” he admitted. One year later, the two tied the knot at the rehab center. 

And at the time, Tammy described her wedding as “the best day of our lives. There was so much love in the room. I’m thankful that so many family members and our family from the rehab were able to come,” she added. But Slaton joked, “When we had our first kiss he leaned forward and hit the control switch and drove right into me knocking me back into my wheelchair!”

1000-Lb Sisters Spoilers – Tammy Viewed Caleb As Her ‘True Partner’

In the wake of their wedding, Tammy opted for gastric bypass surgery. And Caleb supported her throughout her journey to better health. “We support each other wholeheartedly,” she shared. “On our weight loss journeys, when he’s having issues with wanting to eat because he’s bored or because he’s an emotional eater, he comes to me and we talk about the situation.”

And the 1000-Lb Sisters star described herself and Caleb as “true partners. He treats me so different from any other person I was with. He truly was a godsend [through my weight-loss efforts].” Tammy and Willingham’s parents survive Caleb.
