American Idol will not air on Sunday, March 10. That’s because of the 2024 Oscars, which will air on ABC this year. It will also air one hour early at 7:00 p.m. EST.

Fans found out about the major schedule shakeup. They realized that the singing competition would be taking a one-week break.

Most of them flocked to Reddit, where they discussed the schedule shakeup. Fans were disappointed by this change that was hardly mentioned.

Some suggested that a new episode should’ve aired the following day, but it would clash with a new episode of The Bachelor. Other fans felt that the new episode should drop on Hulu.

“Looks like Idol is off completely next Sunday due to Oscars,” one fan wrote. “That’s annoying – I don’t think that was mentioned last night?” another user noted about the Sunday, March 3 episode.
