American Pickers Under Fire From Fans – Was A Scene Staged?

The History Channel’s American Pickers is getting some backlash from fans. It seems some viewers believe a moment from a clip that was featured on the show’s TikTok account was staged. Uploaded footage showed AP star Rob Wolfe going through a couple’s antique room.

During his search, Wolfe finds a massive Hamm’s beer sign that lights up, made in Minnesota sometime between the 1940s to 1960s. Rob notes that about 15 years ago he would’ve walked by these, but the collecting field has changed. He goes on to note that new collectors are out there now, who remember these signs growing up.

Unfortunately, some viewers don’t believe Rob “stumbled” upon this antique by chance, even though the video seems to indicate that.

One comment on the TikTok video accuses the show of being staged, while a Reddit thread supports the idea, too, with many chiming in that American Pickers is “fake”.

This isn’t the only controversy surrounding the show. Many AP viewers have been calling for Rob Wolfe to leave the show, and an inside source for the series has stated that Rob Wolfe (63), along with his brother Mike Wolfe (59), is currently planning to retire.

A friend of Mike’s recently told The U.S. Sun that they don’t know how long Rob and Mike will continue on the show, and they would like to “retire at some point”, as they’ve been doing this for 12 years already.

“American Pickers” Season 25 – Unimpressive

Meanwhile, the future of American Pickers seems a bit in limbo, as the 25th season kicked off recently with lackluster ratings for its premiere episode. Only a mere 723,000 viewers turned in.

Still, the January 24th show of this year, entitled “The Five Generation Pick” brought in the season’s highest ratings with 948,000 fans tuning in. Only time will tell if the show continues, or if it’s reached the end of the line.
