Golden Bachelor spoilers reveal that fans have gotten pretty upset over the new leading man on the second season of the show. The main reason for the hate is due to the fact that he has never been on any of the Bachelor shows before. Of course, fans are happy that the show is coming back, but they don’t have a lot of faith in it because of this unknown man. Let’s take a closer look at why fans are so upset.

The Golden Bachelor

When Bachelor Nation fans heard about the Golden Bachelor coming to ABC, they were happy to watch. Filming got pushed back due to COVID, but when ABC announced that it was coming in 2023, fans were thrilled to watch.

Gerry Turner was the man that ABC chose to be the first Golden Bachelor, and after watching his season, fans were excited to see what would be next for this series in the Bachelor franchise.

When the Golden Bachelor premiered, the ratings were some of the best that this franchise has ever seen. Even people who had never watched The Bachelor were suddenly tuned in, and they loved the wholesome way that this show was portrayed.

Gerry did choose a woman to marry, Theresa Nist. However, their marriage didn’t last as long as viewers anticipated.

The New Golden Bachelor

The next spinoff of The Golden Bachelor led us to the Golden Bachelorette with Joan Vassos as the bachelorette. Fans wanted to see one of the men that she didn’t choose as the Golden Bachelor. However, these fans weren’t happy when they heard the final man chosen for the show.

ABC announced this past week that Mel Owens would be the new Golden Bachelor. Mel is a retired NFL player who played for the Los Angeles Rams for nine seasons. He retired from the NFL due to an injury.

Fans wanted to see Charles Ling as the Golden Bachelor and were very upset with this choice. One fan wrote, “This franchise is so dumb. Why would you cast a rando with all the silver foxes from last season?” Some fans were happy with this pick, though.

We will have to wait and see just how well this season of the show ends up.
