Chrisley Family news reveals that, according to Screen Rant, since Todd and Julie began their sentences, they are coping the best that anyone can. Over the last few years, the pair have been embroiled in legal battles.

Their troubles began in August 2019 when they were indicted by a federal grand jury on 12 counts of bank and wire fraud, tax evasion, and conspiracy (via CNN). Todd maintained his innocence, accusing, instead, one of his former employees, who, he claims, had been stealing from the Chrisley family.

By October of that year, Todd and Julie were cleared of their state tax evasion charge in Georgia. However, the federal tax evasion charges they were facing continued to move forward.

Chrisley Family News – Therapy Helped Todd and Julie Chrisley Before Prison

The reality TV star’s trial began on May 16, 2022, and, by June 7 a jury had convicted the couple on all counts of the indictment. What’s more, Julie Chrisley was convicted on one additional charge of obstruction of justice.

Then, on November 21, 2022, the beleaguered couple was sentenced to a combined 19 years in federal prison. Todd was handed a sentence of 12 years at Federal Prison Camp Pensacola and Julie received seven years for her crimes, to be served at Federal Correctional Institution Marianna.

However, her destination was later changed to FMC Lexington in Kentucky, several hundred miles from her husband. The pair began serving their sentences on January 17, 2023. Prior to reporting to their respective federal prison facilities, the pair reportedly dedicated their remaining time to therapy and spending time with their family.

Since the Chrisley Knows Best veterans began their sentences, interest has grown in how the couple is handling life behind bars. Though Julie Chrisley’s Kentucky federal prison is located a few hours from her family in Nashville, the Pensacola Florida location where Todd Chrisley is serving his time is much farther away.

Despite the great distance, a source revealed that both Todd and Julie have been able to speak to their loved ones, a fact that has certainly aided in their adjustment (via Hollywood Life). The source said, “Todd and Julie have had several phone calls with their children and family.” adding that a couple of the Chrisley family members had Joined one another for those calls.
