Jane Lynch – Says Jennifer Coolidge Will Return To Film Another Season of “Party Down” “If She’s Available”

PEOPLE caught up with Jane Lynch on the red carpet for the premiere of “Party Down’s” third season at the Regency Bruin Theatre in Los Angeles, where she chatted about Coolidge’s future on the hit series.

“Oh, if she can,” Lynch exclusively told PEOPLE on the red carpet that Wednesday evening. “I would imagine she was invited to do this [third season] too.”

“She’s just been very busy,” the Glee alum, 62, added as an explanation for why Coolidge, 61, might not be back for the potential fourth season. And Lynch knows what she’s talking about when she hints at Coolidge’s busy calendar as the reason she wasn’t able to appear in the show’s third season. Even though 2023 has just started, it’s already seen the star win a Golden Globe Award and a Critics Choice Award, as well as receive the Hasty Pudding Theatricals Woman of the Year honor and star in a Super Bowl commercial for e.l.f. Cosmetics. Talk about all in a month’s work.

“I mean, if she’s available, sure! Yeah. [The Party Down producers] will find a way,” Lynch added.

The first season of “Party Down” premiered in 2009 and followed a group of caterers in Los Angeles as they hope to make it big in Hollywood. The second season aired the following year.

The show was cancelled after its second season, and in November 2021, the network ordered a limited number of episodes to be made as the show’s third season. It is set to premiere on the network this Friday and run through March 31.

There’s been no confirmation as to whether the network has greenlit a fourth season.
