Real Housewives Of Salt Lake City (RHOSLC) alum Jen Shah loved what she termed her “Shah-mazing” life. And the always stylish reality TV star flaunted her over-the-top lifestyle on RHOSLC. But then came charges for telemarketing scams targeting the elderly.
And now Jen has begun her new life behind bars. But as Shah quickly discovered, life in prison doesn’t exactly include those super-sized luxuries she thought she deserved. Get all the details below.
Real Housewives Of Salt Lake City Spoilers – Jen Shah Starts Prison Sentence
Jen Shah surrendered to the Federal Bureau of Prisons a few days ago to start her sentence. And for the next six-and-a-half years, the Real Housewives Of Salt Lake City alum will follow a strict schedule. But Jen’s world behind bars at the Federal Prison Camp in Bryan, Texas, looks shockingly different than her life shown on RHOSLC, noted Page Six.
For instance, rather than arise in her comfortable bed at whatever time she chooses, Shah will obey a wake-up call at 6 a.m. from prison officials. And her fondness for fabulous vacations, top-rated restaurants, and seemingly endless closets of designer attire will turn into a memory rather than a reality. Insiders described Jen’s new schedule as “rigorous.”
The Real Housewives star’s prison sentence stems from her guilty plea in July 2022. And though the 49-year-old at first proclaimed her innocence on RHOSLC, she suddenly switched to admitting the crimes. Jen defrauded thousands of individuals, primarily older victims, out of their money in her telemarketing scheme.
Real Housewives Of Salt Lake City Spoilers – Jen Shah Posts On Instagram Just Minutes Before Prison Starts
But the Real Housewives star made one last move only a few minutes before surrendering to her prison sentence. And on Instagram, Shah told her 233,000 followers about her emotions. However, Jen also made a restitution promise.
“I am surrendering to serve a sentence in federal prison today,” wrote the RHOSLC alum on social media. “It is the price I must pay for the bad decisions I made. People got hurt because of my decisions. While incarcerated, I will work to make amends and reconcile with the victims of my crime.”
However, Jen won’t get to choose her schedule in prison. For example, Shah must make her own bed, take out the trash, mop the floor, and keep her cell tidy. And the Real Housewives star also will perform either factory or food service jobs.

Real Housewives Of Salt Lake City Spoilers – Jen Shah Turns Over Jewelry
As a result of her prison sentence, Shah also must turn over her beloved jewelry. Because of the prison rules, inmates can only wear government-issued attire. And Jen can only keep her wedding band and a religious necklace. However, she cannot wear any item valued at more than $100.
RHOSLC revealed Shah’s love of cushy surroundings. But in prison, Jen must share her cell with another inmate. However, she can choose from commissary items such as gourmet snacks and toiletries.
