Joan Vassos self-eliminated from The Golden Bachelor and became the first Golden Bachelorette. Along the way to her finale, she rejected 22 men, and one self-eliminated, so now she knows how GerryTurner felt. But who was her final choice, and will they keep on going strong? 

Contestants Were Competing Against A Late Husband

Joan loved her husband John deeply and after he passed away, it took her a few years to decide that it was okay to look for love again. Many people felt that Kesley Anderson’s dad, Mark might be the one for her. However, she sent him home as she had plenty of others to choose from. 

It soon became obvious that the contestants in the first Golden Bachelorette were not only competing against each other but also against the late husband of Joan Vassos. And that seemed to influence fan favorite, Pascal Ibgui who sent himself home. When he left her in Tahiti, only Chock Chapple and Guy Gansert remained.

Who Won The Heart Of Joan Vassos?

Golden Bachelorette spoilers revealed that one person would go home in disgrace, Pascal would self-eliminate, and the final two would be Chock Chapple and Guy Gansert, and Reality Steve proved right.  As Joan seemed to have a great connection with both of her finalists, it wasn’t an easy choice for her. But in the end, she let Guy Ganset go and chose Chock.

Did Chock Chapple propose to the Golden Bachelorette? And if he did, did Joan Vassos say “yes”? Well, yes, he did propose, and she accepted. But they don’t look likely to make the same mistake as Gerry Turner and Theresa Nist and rush off down the aisle.

Golden Bachelorette Fans React To The Winner

Reactions were varied and interesting because of different perceptions. Some people felt that Guy dodged a bullet, and others felt that Joan Vassos went for Chock because of the size of his wallet. But others felt the whole show was classy and they wished the ABC couple the best in the future.

• No offense or bad vibes, I haven’t watched yet, but if I [was] to guess she will chose who ever she seems the richest based on home visits .. that’s why Jordan left he’s not rich but the 3 last men are.
• I’m not mad at it either. SHE likes him, and they seem to be good fits for each other. They have more chemistry than she did with Guy.
• She seems so unready for all of this.
• There was no discussion of chock being told she chose him, or did I miss something? Who told him Guy got the boot? Is it just assumed he was heading to a beach for a proposal and possibly not have the opportunity to?
• Am I the only one who is happy she picked Chock?
