Josh Duggar Appeal Rehearing Denied, TLC Fans React

The Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals denied Josh Duggar an appeal rehearing. Recall, that his last appeal came in August and it was denied. In September another hearing request was filed and now that has also been turned down. The next step probably involves more expenses by taking it to the Supreme Court. 

Josh Duggar – Appeal Process Failed So Far

The former 19 Kids and Counting star was found guilty of possessing CSAM content but he claimed that someone else might have accessed his computer and downloaded it. However, all of his excuses in court amounted to nothing. In the end, he ended up with a 12-year sentence. Immediately, his legal started the process of filing for an appeal. In January this year, the government refuted his claims of innocence. 

By March, the appeal for a rehearing for Josh Duggar seemed stalled. In February, the 8th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals finally met with the TLC alum’s attorney. At the time, people wondered how Josh being caught with a phone in prison might impact the case. Anyway, it all took time and the months dragged on until August when the former 19 Kids and Counting star’s appeal was denied at the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals. Now it has been denied again. 

Josh Duggar – Runs Out Of Appeals?

Counting On fans saw the latest reply from the United States Court of Appeals. On Reddit, u/Megalodon481 shared a scan of the document. The post said:

…On September 5, Pest’s lawyers requested rehearing of his appeal. They requested rehearing from the original three judge panel and rehearing en banc by all judges on the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals. Well, on September 28, the appeals court disposed of Pest’s rehearing requests with this simple little order.”

The “simple little order” said, “The petition for rehearing en banc is denied. The petition for rehearing by the panel is also denied. ” 

Naturally, people wondered if Jim Bob would now find the money for the legal team to appeal to the Supreme Court. Also, they noted that the document was devoid of reasons for the denial. Perhaps the court of appeals grows tired of Josh.

Josh Duggar – Supreme Court Next?

Speaking about the appeals by Josh Duggar, one commenter who works in the legal field said, “Most clients presented with this option decline to go forward, but once in a while there is an idiot like JB. What I am saying is that to cover their derrières, the attorneys have told JB the truth. If he continues to pursue appeals for his pedo son, that’s solely on him.”
