Lala Kent Says She And Katie Maloney Had An Offscreen Quarrel Prior To ‘VPR’ Season 10 Reunion

That these stars are pretty much filming all of the time does not mean that dramatic things don’t take place offscreen. The new season of ‘Vanderpump Rules’ opened with an intense atmosphere between Lala Kent and Katie Mahoney that left fans confused and picking their brains as to what might have happened. Now we’re learning that the tension we feel between the two originated offscreen.

Lala Kent Provides Some Clarity Regarding Her “Fight” With Katie Mahoney On the Latest Season of ‘Vanderpump Rules’

For those who would like to know why things are off between Lala and Katie, Lala has come forward with some answers.

“Right before the reunion of season 10, Katie had gone on a podcast saying, ‘The vibes were off with us,’” Lala said on the Wednesday, March 13, episode of the “Give Them Lala” podcast. “Something had happened and … we just never came back to where we were.”

The ‘VPR Reunion’s’ 10th season was taped in March 2023 and aired May of that same year. “It may be talked about [at] some point in time, I don’t know, I’m not going to talk about it today,” Lala continued. “But I feel like after that happened, we looked at each other differently, and we distanced ourselves.”

According to Lala, she and Katie are now at a “different place” as opposed to the rocky place they were when they filmed season 11 of the show, but that doesn’t mean it’s yet water under the bridge as they say.

“There was just never resolution,” Lala explained. “It was one thing after the other that we just could not quite conquer and see eye to eye. As the season goes on though, you’ll see that we soften up with each other.”

As fans clearly saw in the Tuesday, March 12, episode of ‘VPR,’ Lala and Katie can’t seem to see eye to eye on the show’s hottest topic: Tom Sandoval cheating on his long-time partner Ariana Madix with Rachel “Raquel” Leviss.

While Lala stood with Scheana Shay for wanting to forgive Sandoval, Katie wasn’t for it. And Katie obviously didn’t like the way Lala kept bringing up her split with Randall Emmett and comparing it with Sandoval and Madix’s.

Speaking on the ensuing argument, Lala said on Wednesday, “I was mad at Katie in that moment. I was like, ‘How dare you take me to a place where I look at you like you’re my enemy.’ … And I asked her, I said, ‘So why are you bringing this out of me right now? Like, you know me.’”

However, Lala isn’t ready to give up on her friendship with Katie, since she believes that they’ll eventually find a common ground.
