Mama June Spoilers: June Shannon Awarded Custody Of Anna Cardwell’s Daughter

Mama June spoilers reveal that June Shannon has won full custody of her late daughter’s child. Anna Cardwell passed away from cancer and June has been fighting to gain custody of Kaitlyn. This has been a very long court battle since Anna died in December of 2023. Not only did June gain custody this week, but she also smeared Michael Cardwell in court. Let’s find out what happened.

Mama June – Wanted Custody Early On

When June and her family all found out that Anna was sick, they were heartbroken. Kaitlyn, who is only 12, was uncertain of who she would end up with once her mother passed away. June made it her goal to gain full custody of her because Anna would have wanted it that way.

Anna’s younger child, Kylee was given to her biological father, Michael. June wanted to make sure that Kaitlyn was in the right home, but she knew that Eldridge Toney was not the man who wanted to be responsible for her.

Anna felt that June was more stable than Eldridge. He has been in Kaitlyn’s life since she was five years old, but Anna felt as if he would never adopt Kaitlyn or be able to provide for her.

There have also been rumors that he was not exactly the kindest person in Anna’s life. June made sure to tell the court exactly what she thought when it came to his actions.

Court Rules In June’s Favor

Kaitlyn did express her desire to stay with June and be adopted by her. She loves being with her grandmother and June knows that she can give her the best life possible. June told the court that when Anna was married to Michael Cardwell, he was abusive to her and her children.

June feels that he shouldn’t be able to see any of his children because of how he treated his family. This is why June told the court that it was in Kaitlyn’s best interest to live with her and not Michael or Eldridge.

Of course, Michael denied ever being abusive to Anna or his children. He pointed out that he had never heard of anyone calling him abusive and felt as if June was given the benefit of the doubt and no one really investigated her claims.
