Whitney Way Thore, 39, joins her father Glenn Thore and brother Hunter Thore in the new season of My Big Fat Fabulous Life.

And the trio arrange a funeral that focuses on celebrating her late mother, Barbara Thore, according to People.

But spoilers reveal that Whitney gets involved in bringing her family closer together. And she also admitted to pushing her father into the spotlight. “I joke a lot with my dad. I’ve always said that my mom was the star of the show,” confessed the star of My Big Fat Fabulous Life.

And Whitney shared that she viewed her show as “all just really a vehicle for her to be brought to the world.” But after her mother’s death, the reality TV star turned to her father. “And now that she’s gone, I told dad, ‘You’re going to have big shoes to fill.’ And I think he actually did.”

However, Whitney shared that viewers will note that her father possesses “a different brand of funny” than her mom. And the star of My Big Fat Fabulous Life also teased that the season will feature a bucket list of adventurous activities for her father to complete. As a result, the season focuses on her father. 

And Whitney teams up with her brother to take care of their father and create that bucket list. “We see a whole new side of Glenn Thore. He’s no longer Glenn Thore, he’s rebranded as GT and he’s a whole new man,” she added. 

However, the star of My Big Fat Fabulous Life has made some changes as well. And she has become used to strangers criticizing everything from her appearance to her life choices. “Being in the public eye shows you the best of people, and then it also shows you the worst. And it’s something I really still wish I was naive to, honestly,” she added.

But Whitney shared that it still sometimes feels “so demoralizing in the sense of I’m just like, wow, people are so horrible. People are awful. People are bullies. Usually I deal with that by just not being on the internet. But I’m exhausted. It’s been 10 years, I can’t take it,” she continues.

As a result, Whitney shared that she will manage critics in a new way. And rather than “just blocking and deleting, I’m just going to say what I want to say back. It feels good, honestly. I’ve been having a lot of fun with it.” But while she enjoys bashing those bullies, Whitney also plans to focus “on the people in my life who I love.”
