Real Housewives Of Atlanta (RHOA) viewers watched Kim Zolciak go from single and ready to mingle to married with kids. And now the RHOA star has moved to the next stage of her life. A new report shows Kim filing for divorce from now-estranged hubby Kroy Biermann.

Legal documents reveal Real Housewives Of Atlanta alum Kim Zolciak making the decision to call it quits on her marriage. However, the RHOA alum didn’t give any hints of relationship troubles to hubby Kroy Biermann during their 11-year marriage. But Kim, 44, put April 30 as the separation date on which she and Kroy split, according to Page Six.

And not even a year ago, Zolciak spilled her secrets to a happy marriage on her 11-year wedding anniversary. “If you’re asking for a secret, lots of sex,” suggested the RHOA alum. But she also noted, “I think one of the biggest secrets is also communication. Choosing to love that person day in and day out, I think it’s a choice and a lot of times people are just so quick to throw in the towel.” However, Kroy also offered his insights at the time. And he denied rumors that reality TV hurt their marriage.

“Whether you’re married on camera or a regular person married, I don’t think there’s any difference,” claimed Biermann. “And I think when things get tough, people don’t want to stay true to their vows and stay true to their partner. They’d rather just say screw it and try it on the next one. But you got to hold true to your promises that you gave that person when you were standing in front of your friends and family.”

Kim Zolciak – And Estranged Hubby Owe More Than $1 Million To IRS

However, the divorce news broke soon after reports that the estranged couple owe more than $1 million to the IRS. The total includes unpaid taxes, interest and penalties from 2013, 2017 and 2018. And in addition, the songstress and the athlete owe the state of Georgia $15,000 for unpaid taxes for 2018.

In February, Zolciak and Kroy’s Georgia mansion went up for auction after entering foreclosure. That situation occurred when the two defaulted on a $1.65 million loan obtained in 2016. However, more information might emerge when Kim appears in a cameo on RHOA season 15.

Zolciak, who left RHOA in 2012, starred for five seasons on the show. She and her now-estranged husband even appeared in a wedding spin-off, “Don’t Be Tardy for the Wedding,” in 2012. A spin-off called “Don’t Be Tardy” lasted eight seasons before ending in 2020. However, Kim appeared in Real Housewives Of Atlanta season 10 for a feud with NeNe Leakes and Kandi Burruss.

Kim and Kroy, who wed on November 11, 2011, co-parent Kroy Jagger, 11, Kash, 10, and 9-year-old twins Kane and Kaia. Zolciak also parents Brielle, 26, and Ariana Biermann, 21, from prior relationships. And Kroy adopted both Brielle and Ariana when they were younger.
