Real Housewives Spoilers – RHONY Gets Debut Date!

Bravo finally released details about the highly anticipated return of the Real Housewives of New York City. And the network included a debut date of Sunday, July 16 at 9 p.m. ET/PT. But Bravo limited the teaser to a picture of a red apple. And as a woman bites into the fruit, Bravo adds, “Start spreading the news. #RHONY Season 14 premieres July 16th! ✨✨” in its official announcement via Page Six.

For season 14, RHONY will feature a completely new cast. Sai De Silva, Ubah Hassan, Erin Dana Lichy, Jenna Lyons, Jessel Taank and Brynn Whitfield will seek to bring their own views while appealing to viewers. The news about Real Housewives Of New York City comes after the slams for the past two seasons. 

The backlash came in two parts. First, Bravo faced slams for hiring only white women. And second, one of Bravo’s stars allegedly made racist remarks after Eboni K. Williams was hired. Williams claimed that RHONY co-star Ramona Singer made the racist comments. The remarks reportedly occurred when Luann de Lesseps ordered Williams out of her house. And Ramona then allegedly stated, “This is why we shouldn’t have black people on the show.”

RHONY Spoilers – What Happened To Legacy?

As a result of the backlash, Bravo announced two versions of RHONY. The first would involve a complete recast. And the second would involve fan favorites, known as the Legacy edition. But plans for the Legacy edition collapsed during contract negotiations. 

However, Bravo reportedly now wants to put together a New York Legacy version of the Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip series. That would feature fan favorites taking a vacation together. Insiders have hinted that de Lesseps and Sonja Morgan received offers. Other returning RHONY stars reportedly include Kelly Bensimon and Dorinda Medley.

Meanwhile, the revamped Real Housewives Of New York City sparked a debate among fans. For instance, some complained that they wanted to see at least a few fan favorites among the newbies. But others liked the approach. For example, one fan responded, “People complaining about the cast. Get over it! I’m excited for this new group of ladies who represent the NEW New York.”

But some RHONY fans feel that the Instagram influencers on the cast do not represent New York. And they also objected to a cast filled with women who know how to control their narratives through social media. As one fan shared, “Don’t expect this cast to show their real lives on camera. They are experts in sharing only what they want.”
