Sister Wives Child Abuse Scandal Divides Family: Who Supports Meri Brown?

Sister Wives child abuse rumors focused on Meri Brown recently. And they stunned the show’s followers. But the scandal also divided the family. And it led to the question about who supports Meri.

Find out who sparked the child abuse rumors. And learn who sides with Meri. Get all the details below.

Sister Wives – Split Over Meri Brown Abuse Allegations

Kody Brown usually loves the Sister Wives spotlight. But in terms of Meri Brown’s child abuse allegations, Kody has stayed silent. However, two former Sister Wives stars reportedly contacted Meri. And they offered support.

Sister Wives

The scandal developed when three of Christine and Kody’s kids — Mykelti, 26, Paedon, 24, and Gwendlyn, 21 — and Janelle’s 27-year-old daughter, Madison, alleged that Meri, 51, behaved in a cruel way during their childhood. However, while those young adults accused Meri, she seemed to receive support from two others. And a show of support occurred when Meri took to a trip to Las Vegas to visit two of Janelle’s sons, Logan and Hunter, according to OK magazine.

“When in Vegas, it just makes sense to find a couple of good looking guys to spend a few hours with!” joked Meri about her supporters. However, while she joked in public, an insider shared that Logan and Hunter reached out to Meri. And they claimed that Paedon was “full of s**t.” However, the two young men also wanted Meri to know “they supported her,” said the insider.

Meri Brown – Allegedly ‘Scary’ And ‘Rude’ To Sister Wives’ Kids

Paedon, 24, became the first Sister Wives star to allege that Meri Brown went “so far past verbal” in terms of child abuse. And he also alleged that the kids “never” felt “safe” around her. But Mykelti and Gwendlyn later agreed. And they described Meri as “scary”, “rude” and verbally abusive to several of the Sister Wives children.

As a result, Meri has lacked support. And an insider shared, “Very few family members are there for her. Most of them feel like she still betrayed the family,” explained the source. “But Logan and Hunter have always been supportive.”

However, the situation puts Kody Brown in an challenging situation, noted another insider. And he probably received advice to “not talk about it at all,” added the source. “He seems to only be worried about himself right now. He’s in a really weird mood.”

Because so many wives left Kody, the polygamist patriarch has begun “seeking power again. He feels like he’s the one who lost control and lost his values,” noted the insider. And his history makes that feeling understandable.

For instance, at the end of Sister Wives season 1, Kody ruled with four wives. But by the end of season 17, Kody lost all his relationships except for his fourth wife, Robyn. Christine left first, revealing the split in November 2021. And Janelle followed Christine’s lead. But in early January, Kody himself shared that he and Meri had ended their 30-years-plus marriage.
