‘Teen Mom’ David Eason’s Ex Mourns Daughters Sudden Death

Teen Mom alum David Eason was in other relationships before he married Jenelle Evans, and now, one of his ex-girlfriends is mourning her young daughter, who passed away suddenly. Read on for more details.

Who Has Died?

David fathered Ensley with Jenelle, but before that, he and his former wife, Whitney Johnson, welcomed Maryssa, who lived on “The Land” with Jenelle and David before they split. She is studying nursing these days and seems to be okay.

David Eason also has an ex-girlfriend, Olivia Leedham, and they welcomed a boy named Kaden about a decade ago. Since then, Olivia has had another child, although the Teen Mom alum isn’t her biological father. Her name was Lailah, and she passed away suddenly on June 7, 2025.

How Did Lailah Die?

TV Shows Ace reported this week that a friend of Olivia shared the sad news about the passing of the seven-year-old child. Alice Guy, the outlet said, shared more details about the sad death of Lailah on a GoFundMe that is running for David Eason’s ex.

So far, it’s raised just over $15K to help with “living expenses” while Olivia comes to terms with her loss. The write-up noted that Olivia Leedham is a single mom.

Jenelle Evans is busy posting on Threads about her upcoming divorce party, and so far, doesn’t seem to have said anything about the child of David Eason’s ex. Meanwhile, there’s no way to know if Jenelle reached out to Leedham privately. Perhaps David will because his son Kaden will no doubt be feeling sad.

Reactions From Donors

Not many people sent in messages when they donated towards the living costs, but one friend of the family remembered how Kaden and his mom must be feeling deeply bereaved right now. In part, they said:

Olivia and Kaden you are in our families thoughts and prayers. Scarlette loved playing with Lailah and would like you all to know she loved being her friend…Kaden…deeply sorry for the loss of your little sister, I truly am heartbroken for you and for you to know you’re not alone…

Donations Sent In

People were generous with their donations, and a few of them sent in $1000. Others went in $500, and of the 67 donors so far, others gave whatever they could afford for Lailah’s mom. The total target for David’s ex is $50K. Of course, some of it could have come from Jenelle and/or David, but there’s no way of telling. 

In 2019, Olivia and David had a huge fight about the custody of Kaden, and Jenelle rushed to support her then-husband.  Starcasm reported on it, and it was every toxic. So, perhaps they won’t be talking about young Lailah.
