Gerry Turner seemed especially interested in Joan Vassos at the beginning of The Golden Bachelor. But to the disappointment of fans, Joan dropped a bombshell. And she suddenly exited early because of an emergency in her family. However now Joan has updated that emergency via Pop Culture.

Joan had exited The Golden Bachelor because she felt concerned about her daughter. And in her update, The Golden Bachelor alum shared news about her family. But Joan also expressed her appreciation to fans in her Instagram post.

“A huge thank you to everyone expressing their concern for my family,” began The Golden Bachelor alum in her social media post. And she called it “a privilege to be a mom to four amazing kids and a grandmother (they call me Jojo) to two beautiful grandchildren. But once a mom, always a mom,” she added. 

And Joan sadly shared, “Sometimes the timing doesn’t work out with finding love.” However, she offered some positive news about her family, noting “everyone at home is doing great. And I hope one day I will get the chance at love again.”

However, before her exit, many fans felt convinced that Joan seemed like the ultimate winner. For instance, she even enjoyed an intimate dinner with Gerry Turner. And the two shared a connection discussing their late spouses.

“I had a really hard time leaving home,” Joan admitted to the 72-year-old Golden Bachelor star. And she described her many “responsibilities back at home. I have a daughter who just had a baby 15 days ago-a C-section, not an easy delivery, not an easy baby. But for the first time in my life, I thought, ‘I am really going to do something for myself’.”

And Joan confessed, “I think I’m ready and this is an opportunity that I just can’t let go.” But then she faced a decision. And between a text from her daughter versus a rose from Turner, Joan chose her duties. However, the Golden Bachelor star responded with a heartfelt statement. 

And Turner reflected, “There’s a moral compass that we both share.” But he also realized, as he told Joan, “Sometimes the right thing to do is the hardest.”

And as Joan left the mansion, she shared that her heart received “a little fix from Gerry. He’s helped with the journey. Because as you get older, you become more invisible. People don’t see you anymore. Like, you’re not as significant as when you’re young.”
