The Golden Bachelor: Leslie Reacts To Gerry’s Wedding After ‘Blindsided’ Heartbreak

The Golden Bachelor proved that love doesn’t end when you turn 60. And both the Golden Bachelor finale and the recent Golden Wedding scored huge ratings as viewers watched to see Gerry Turner propose to and then wed his now-wife Theresa Nist.

However, Golden Bachelor runner-up Leslie Fhima just confessed how she felt as a guest at that wedding. Find out what moment made her uncomfortable below.

An ex-girlfriend doesn’t typically receive a wedding invitation from a man that she thought she would marry. But the Golden Bachelor set a precedent in its first year.

And that included inviting the contestants who didn’t win Golden Bachelor star Gerry Turner’s heart to his wedding to Theresa Nist.

As a result, Golden Bachelor runner-up Leslie Fhima attended the Golden Wedding. But she confessed that one part of the ceremony felt “really uncomfortable for me. And seeing Theresa so happy really, kind of, just took that away anyhow,” the Golden Bachelor runner-up noted via People.

And Leslie, a 65-year-old fitness instructor, admitted that she felt awkward when Gerry brought up the topic of Costa Rica during the wedding. Gerry and Theresa became engaged there. However, it’s also where Leslie’s romance with Turner sadly ended.

And Fhima revealed, “It was a little uncomfortable during the ceremony when they were talking about Costa Rica. Because I was there too,” she pointed out. “It was probably the only time it was really uncomfortable for me,” Leslie noted. 

The reference to Costa Rica came up when Turner, 72, told Nist, “From the first sip of chocolate shake to the last taste of Costa Rican coffee, I learned that you are the woman I can’t live without.” But as the Golden Bachelor revealed, Gerry decided that he could live without Leslie.

And Fhima recalled during After the Final Rose that she felt “blindsided” when Turner staged their breakup in the tropical locale. “I was 100% certain that I was his girl,” she confessed. “And things he said to me on our overnight and meeting his family, I mean, they didn’t show everything, but we had such a good time.”

But Leslie revealed to Turner, “Because of your integrity, your words meant so much to me. I didn’t take them for granted, I took them and put them in my heart. Everybody knows what was said on camera,” she added. “But only you and I know what was said on the overnight.

And I would never share that with anyone. It’s our private time. But those words gave me 100% certainty that I was your girl and we were going to get engaged.”

However, Fhima later decided to attend the wedding despite her heartbreak. And she told her Instagram followers, “Hey guys, happy new year! I just want to say thank you so much from the bottom of my heart for all your kind and encouraging words.

I’m feeling so much better that now I get to go to the wedding,” she gushed. “And I can’t wait to support Gerry and Teresa in their beautiful day, and I know it’s going to be really really amazing.”
